I suppose there are two kinds of people I can learn from at the moment. The first one are those whose interactions with the world outside and within are shallow, those who are so lazy to work on themselves that you know their life story (unstable marriage, alcoholism, lack of will to find the “common language” with other people, political views…) in advance, just like a rock going downhill without any understanding or will to do something about it. When I meet some of those, I can learn something even from their tragic superficiality (I wish them all the luck in the world, though), I feel more secure about myself and more aware of what I don’t want to be and why. The second one (see the first sentence of this comment) are artists, creative people and dreamers. Even if I can’t experience everything worth-wile from the world of ideas, those people remind me there is more to explore (without any chemical tricks and dead ends) if I want and need to (even during “usual” and “boring” days). I feel dizzy just when I compare myself now and ten years ago.
I agree with the majority of what Sara says in the video above.
In fact as I was watching…well really listening,I guess,to Sara,
I had a synchronicity / “Six Degrees of Separation” while looking for a picture of a sculpture called “The Shortest Short Story” made by Lucy Vader.
It was at the Byron Bay Writer’s Festival last year, but I didn’t snap a picture at the time,so I went Goggling for an image, but could only find one on some ladie’s blog.
This sync /6 degrees thing also involves you too Rob and Trish, but I’ll have to do a post on my blog to explain it better .
Then you will see what I mean…literally.-)
Thanks for the intro.
