I’m a huge fan of this young woman’s art. She happens to be our daughter, Megan, and over the past four years, Rob and I have witnessed how her talent has expanded, how her palette of color has deepened. The painting above is part of a series of wave paintings she did. I love this one so much I used it for my business card.
Here was my birthday present this year, our beloved dogs, Nika and Noah:
Here’s the painting she did of just Noah:
One of the local restaurants in Orlando invited Megan to set up during a festival. She painted one of the swans on Lake Eola:
Another wave:
On her website, you can see other pet portraits, people portraits, waves, wildlife.
This ability wasn’t inherited from either of us. Our paintings, rendered at her Paint Nite classes, are too pathetic to even post!
Has Megan ever thought of painting yoga mats?
I just listened to Noah Lampert at his ‘Synchronicity’ pod-cast show interview a lady named Jamie Gaviola who paints mandalas on yoga mats –

Just a warning to people who don’t like people swearing, Noah does throw a few F bombs in now and then, but it is worth a listen to, I think…the pod-cast, not the F bombs 🙂
Maybe Megan could paint waves on yoga mats and sell them as surf mats?
You can see Jamie’s mats at her web-site linked here to give you an idea of what I’m talking about –

I think yoga surf mats would sell well in Florida, that’s if nobody else has thought of it.
Maybe dolphin and whale wave mats as well?
I’m going to suggest that to her, Daz!
Just beautiful, Trish! I can see what you used it for a business card, it would be perfect. And yes she is so talented! 🙂
Thanks, DJan!
Megan’s talent is a genuine gift! I’ve never seen paintings by any other artists, including those ‘Masters’ who are most famous, who use her unique patterns with colors. They are candy for the eyes and the soul! I especially love the one above of Noah. Goldens, like Labradors, “smile”. They are the only breeds I’ve seen with actual smiles, and it’s just thrilling! Thank you for sharing Megan’s paintings with us. I suspect one day her work will be hanging in museums!
They really do smile!
