A global synchro, as we defined it in 7 Secrets of Synchronicity, is something most of us understand. “When synchronicities manifest themselves through global events, the universe seems to be addressing us as a collective.” Here’s an example.
On January 15, 2009 at 8:00 p.m., the president (Bush) gave his final speech to the nation. In a presidency defined by the repercussions of planes slamming into the WTC, it was intriguing that just five hours earlier, U.S. Airways flight 1549 crashed into the Hudson River, a short distance from the site of 9-11. Yet, the landing was near perfect, and all 135 passengers survived.
The first rescue boat to reach the scene was named after Thomas Jefferson, the principal author of the Declaration of Independence. He was a staunch supporter of the separation between church and state, a man consistently ranked as one of our best presidents. After 8 years of flagrant abuse of power, a disastrous war of choice, torture, rendition flights, & the erosion of civil rights, it was as if the “miracle on the Hudson” was an assurance from the universe that we would all come through intact. It’s no small irony that 5 days later, the day after Martin Luther King Day, the first Afro-American president was sworn into office.
Now, given the egregious nature of the trump presidency, a beast far worse than anything in the Bush years, these global synchros have a more weighted significance.
On May 29, Roseanne Barr sent a racist tweet: “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj.” Her show was quickly cancelled by ABC.
The initials refer to Valerie Jarrett, a former senior aide to Obama. On this same day, MSNBC’s Chris Hayes and Joy Reid hosted a special called Racism in America, and Valerie Jarrett’s appearance on the show had been planned long before Roseanne’s tweet. What are the odds that the MSNBC show on racism just happened to be scheduled on the same day at Roseanne’s racist tweet?
Are global synchros increasing? It seems so. Part of it may be due to 24/7 social media coverage. But perhaps in culturally divisive times these synchros crop up more frequently to remind us of an underlying order in the universe that physicist David Bohm called the implicate or enfolded order. It’s a kind of primal soup that births everything in the universe, even space and time. Our daily reality is the explicate or unfolded order. Synchronicity, then, is where the implicate and the explicate – the inner and outer – coincide.
At any rate, 12 hours after her racist tweet, Roseanne apologized: guys I did something unforgiveable so do not defend me. It was 2 in the morning and I was ambien tweeting-it was memorial day too-i went 2 far & do not want it defended-it was egregious. Indefensible. I made a mistake I wish I hadn’t but…don’t defend it please. Ty
Trump, who applauded Roseann’s show for its more than 18 million viewers – It’s about us! – took more than a day to react. His tweet? He demanded a personal apology from ABC.
If Roseanne gets fired for her comment, why doesn’t trump get impeached for so much worse ones? Such hypocrisy.
I’ve wondered the same thing repeatedly!! What’s he still doing in office?!!
I applaud the TV station for firing Rosanne. If they let her show continue after making such an ugly, overtly racist statement, publicly, they would by implication be endorsing her views. Racism means reducing other human beings, who look different in some way, to less, ugly, wrong, and not entitled to the same rights and respect, not having the same humanity. In essence that is what she said, and this country has worked hard to demonstrate that exclusion and hatread based on the color of one’s skin is – wrong. Very wrong. The Obama presidency was a great step forward to a just society, sadly, this country has fallen backwards very quickly since that intelligent and eloquent leader left us. ABC did the only thing they could do.
We have a “president” who can publicly talk about attacking women’s genitals, hanging to death his opponent, he thinks some Nazis (and remember what Nazis represent, speaking of human rights) are “very fine people”, and he wants media to apologize to poor Rosanne Barr, and fire the woman who (inappropriately – but how many people call men who are jerks a “prick”?). I’m sure she could have come up with a different word) called his corrupt daughter, who is very much inappropriately now our “senior national White House Advisor”.
A woman with no more qualification to “advise” this country’s government than that she has a sweat shop in China. That to me is obscene.

That is exactly the point I am making: Trump used the word and wasn’t fired or in any
manner chastised, and that underscores my comments….that ALL people who are using filthy dialogues against other persons should receive equal punishment, but they are not.
The scales of justice are warped in this regard.

I’m afraid I feel compelled to make a dissenting comment on this topic. Since becoming virtually blind, (to be treated with surgery next month), I cannot read ANYTHING except elevating the font on the computer to huge and then lowering it back to normal when finished. So, I LISTEN to much, much TV that is normal for me, and hear all kinds of news shows, material, series, etc. In the situation with RoseAnne, firing seemed the fair response in my opinion. HOWEVER, over these months I’ve heard a great deal of all kinds of commentary from all kinds of TV programs, including news from all sides and various series of all kinds. RoseAnne is not the ONLY person who should be fired. There have been dozens upon dozens of other people in the media who have said worse, including more than one individual calling a female political figure the “c” four-letter word on broadcast TV. Was that person fired? Nope. In my personal opinion, that “c” word is by and large the absolute WORST adjective in our language, and when it is levied against another person, the speaker should be instantly dismissed, as RoseAnne was. It is happening far too often, more and more, and while some offenders are slammed to the ground, many others don’t even receive a reprimand. This is an overt example of extreme bias…..from ALL sides of the political arena. If one person is going to be hung out to dry, then ALL who offend in this way should also face the identical consequence. That’s all I have to say on the matter, except it seems grossly unjust. No, I don’t like RoseAnne. But I like LESS the fact that so many other individuals are getting “a pass” on their nasty mouths and a few are not. I think the rule should be applicable to all.

Republicans are outraged by Samantha Bee’s disgusting comment about Ivanka Trump, but not so much when her father – POTUS – quite explicitly was recorded saying where he grabbed women and that he could do it because he was famous. In fact, 2 weeks later, they voted him into the presidency. The hypocrisy is astonishing.
This entire event is a pathetic comment on where we are as a nation.
