An explosive synchro

Jim Carey’s new portrait of Donald Trump

Is it a synchronicity that 48 hours after Donald Trump announced that he is a nationalist that 10 bombs were sent to prominent Democrats, including two presidents and a vice president? Or, was it cause and effect? In other words, did the bomber or bombers hear that Trump called himself a nationalist—one of us, they might’ve thought—and went to the post office with their bombs. I would say that both are true. They no doubt had their bombs ready before Trump made the announcement, but  when they heard him declare that he was one of them, a white nationalist—that’s what they assumed—then that was the cue.

Trump, when questioned, said he never heard the word white was used in front of nationalism. Of course, that was a lie. He lies every day and it’s documented every day. Earlier in his campaign, he said he’d never heard of David Duke, the former Grand Banana (aka Wizard) of the KKK. That again was a lie…and has been documented. The Washington Post and New York Times note that Trump knows enough about Duke to have denounced him several times in past decades when he was a Democrat.

Now they are bedfellows. Duke tweeted that of course nationalists are white nationalists. Look at Trump’s rally. It was 99.9% white, he said. And the Daily Stormer, the American neo-Nazi, white supremacist, holocaust-denying web site cheered loudly after Trump’s announcement. “He is one of us!” They bellowed.

The White House responded that the definition of nationalism is “loyalty and devotion to a nation.” It sounds like patriotism, which is “love for or devotion to one’s country,” per Merriam Webster.

But the definition of nationalism also includes “exalting one nation above all others and placing primary emphasis on promotion of its culture and interests as opposed to those of other nations or supranational groups.” This exclusionary aspect is not shared by patriotism.

But let’s get beyond calling these people nationalists or white nationalists. Let’s call them what they are: neo-Nazis and white supremacist. Trump has identified himself with them, embraced them. Sure sounds like he is one of them.

Of course, if he thought that he would be better off distancing himself from the white nationalist crowd, he would do so. No problem. That’s because he is a free-range president, who only thinks about himself on every issue.

Thank you, Nancy, I understand and agree with you. This is yet another tragic day for our country….another senseless killing in the synagogue in PA. Just so much evil and so much pain and it seems to happen now almost daily. I can’t help but wonder, with a firm
foundation core in Karma, what did we Americans do to bring these horrors upon us. Candles burning for those who are now among the lost…….

  2. CJ says:

Trish and Rob, by no means have I “gone to the other side” occupied by my family. I maintain everything I’ve said and felt about Trump. What HAS changed is ME. I’m finding that when I sustain negative and hateful feelings, my illness gets worse, and I recognize that my Spirit feels dirty and soiled. For these reasons and others, I’m trying really, really hard to keep myself in a place of love and peace; trying to avoid the impacts on me when I allow myself to indulge in negative thinking. This extends to Trump and the current political war. This is not a bid for sympathy. Just trying to explain where I am now regarding the Trump situation. I feel exactly the same about him as I always have, but I can no longer allow my thoughts and feelings about him
to affect me and have therefore shifted into ‘neutral’. I read what I wrote on the blog about him some time ago and it sickens me. I’m trying so, so hard,Guys, to follow the Path of Peace that my Soul has chosen….Pagan, a Peaceful Warrior. I understand that my end-time for this incarnation is in sight, and as a born energy worker, I’m vulnerable to energies. There is so much happening in my domestic life that I don’t want to spare a microscopic atom of even more negativity. Trump? My feelings, intuition, and opinions about him haven’t shifted. But I’ve had no choice than to shift my PERCEPTIONS into a space that doesn’t bring me more pain. And when the family gets into their political rants supporting the man, I leave the room and close my door or I’m aware I could be drawn into a battle I don’t have the energy to fight. I am alone in my feelings and thoughts about the president, thus I keep silent. I should not have posted my comments on the blog yesterday, and for that I apologize. It won’t happen again, I promise. I’m blocking myself as much as I can from the political scene.

Last comment on this post, I promise.

I fear this country is headed for a civil war. We the people have the power to either prevent it, or to continue sowing the seeds of it. It’s up to us. It starts with trying to understand each other. When I ask a simple and very specific question like What exactly has he done that’s bad for the country?, and the only answers I can get out of anyone are along the lines of He’s a big fat ugly mean racist liar-head!, it’s difficult for me get a sense of what you want from your president. I actually agree that he’s mean and ugly and often stretches the truth, but when I list point-by-point all the things he has accomplished so far, I’m greeted with blank stares by people who have never heard those things before, or refuse to even acknowledge them. I’m still waiting for someone to tell me why the tax cut was bad for the country, why the new trade deals are bad for the country, why better relations with North Korea are bad for the country, why secure borders and sensible immigration policies are bad for the country. Getting answers to those questions would go a long way toward my understanding of your position. Instead, all I hear is people shouting “Trump is a racist!” as if shouting it loudly enough will somehow make it true.

The media is to blame for some of it. CNN and MSNBC and the others have been waging war on this president since before he was elected. Pretending they’re telling the truth and Fox News is full of lies is disingenuous. The fact is, none of them are reporting the news anymore. What you get are opinions and editorials from both sides, and you have to dig deeper to find out what’s really happening in the world. CNN is flat-out lying to you. Fox News is flat-out lying to you. Both are extensions of their respective political parties. Same goes for all the others. I don’t know how to fix that, except to stop listening to all of them.

In the meantime, the least we can do is talk to each other. Stop screaming “Trump is a racist!” and start exploring our differences in productive ways. Ask our political opponents why they feel the way they do, and give thoughtful answers when they ask the same of us.

    Our country is at stake.

    • nancy says:

I, too am worried about a Civil War.

Okay, let me try to answer your questions from my point of view. All worthwhile, by the way.

First of all, Trump gutted environmental programs, endangered spieces programs, opened our monuments and park systems to mining (mostly for countries that are not US), opened up oil exploration in the pristine waters of the Arctic and West Coast (Oregon has recently said NO), continues to push dirty sources of power such as coal and fracking for gas deposits that destroy whole water eco-systems. Those are the environmental issues I have with him.

He then toured Europe and insulted our allies and acted like a whipped dog in Helsinki, which looked very much like a traitor in my eyes. I don’t see better relations with North Korea, they appear to be doing what they have always done.

He goes to rallies and inspires his base to hate ANYONE that disagrees with him.

He separates children from their parents at the border. As a person with an educational background in human development and family studies – that is a gigantic NO NO. It is inhumane. Period.

He has increased our deficit by a trillion+ dollars, all the while telling us how much better off financially we are with him in office. Well, I am not better off. My 401K took a beating this year and is now worth less than it was last year. The tax break gave me absolutely nothing to even consider worth noting. A few dollars, nothing more. Now his minions in Congress are talking about balancing the budget on the back of “entitlments” such as Social Security and Medicare, programs we paid into for the entirety of our working lives. As for the the tariff war he has implemented, I had dinner with a friend that was an Economics professor, he said it was a very bad idea – all the while continuing to stand behind Trump, by the way.

I do not believe people should be able to enter this country illegally, I do believe we should treat all human beings with empathy and kindness, however. Finding a solution to what is happening in their country might be a great way for Trump to show some “statesmanship.”

So to answer your question; he has done more to make me feel sad, less secure financially, less secure physically, and separated me from people I care very much about. Those are the reasons I despise this man. More jobs will not make me feel better. Even if my 401K soared, I would not feel better. There is so much more to this world than money, and that is ALL this man cares about.

I don’t watch mainstream news on a regular basis. The 24-hour news cycle is a big part of the problem with talking heads giving their opinions, instead of just reporting the days happenings. I miss Walter Cronkite. (Whew, that ages me.)

And I promise I’m done with this too. Thank you for asking, by the way.

      • bh says:

Nancy, thank you for your thoughtful response. I share your feelings on some of those issues, and I disagree with some, but I will withhold my rebuttal because I promised I would. At least you’re willing to communicate. We need more of that – from our politicians, from our media, and most of all from our friends, family members, and even online acquaintances. More communicating, less shouting. Thanks for that.

    • Trish and Rob says:

BH, your comment that words don’t matter is shameful. You know damn well if the horrific and uncaring rhetoric spewing from Trump was coming from the left, from a liberal president words would matter very much. A president who sends repeated shoutouts to racisms is pure evil. You are not a research, you are a propagandist for the far right and whether you believe it or not, for the racists. I will continue to call you out if you post here.

      • bh says:

Calm down, Rob. I think you have me confused with someone else. I didn’t say anything like that, or even close to it.

        • Trish and Rob says:

All that I’ve said is simply a reaction to what’s going on in the everyday world, a natural reaction when one is appalled by a person’s behavior, namely Trump’s. But if we shift to a higher mode of reality, a different picture emerges.

If everyone would accept Trump—even his worst detractors and all those who fear he is moving us toward autocratic rule and endangering democracy—and tell him he’s wonderful, just doing a fabulous job, that he can do no wrong…then guess what? Hard as it seems to believe, he would vanish in a poof. So, in a sense, you’re on the right track, but for the wrong reasons.

Trump’s very existence relies on conflict and controversy and hitting back at every slight. Once he loses his reason for being, literally the essence of who he is, he would no longer exist, at least not in this reality.

  4. CJ says:

Please, I beg you, tell me, Trish and Rob and Nancy and other Dems, that you DO NOT SUPPORT the directives, the rantings and ravings, of Maxine Waters and her minions who scream at the Left to confront Republicans and their families, including their children, in resturants , department stores, service stations, convenience stores….wherever they see them, Waters screams, get up against them with force and yell obscenities at them that they are not wanted…get out….Dear Jesus…and I am not a Christian….it is inhumane.

You know I generally avoid the political discussions here on the blog and anywhere else, but in my opinion I fear you have truly BECOME what you are fighting. That is an observation and not a judgment. Trump cannot reasonably be blamed for every evil act that is increasing each and every day in this country. If you think otherwise, well, it might be a good idea to lay blame on BOTH SIDES of the aisle, because it’s for darn sure the Democrats are just as responsible for the current events and violence as the Trump folks. Possibly even MORE. When you accuse Trump and his followers of all the evil , you are blinding yourselves to the entire picture and you are giving more power to Trump than any one man can possibly possess. Deplorables????? That describes BOTH sides of the aisle. I have nothing more to say except that as you know I am a Pacifist and cannot, will not, in good conscience sit silently and observe this despicable vitriolic hatred being spewed. It is sickening. It is black. It thrives and grows in Darkness. Especially by people whose original purpose in this life was apparently to assist our planet toward reaching a higher spiritual paradigm. Search your Souls…..Do your Spirits feel comfortable when you do this nightmare raging? I certainly won’t judge you, but it flies in the face of Light. This is the last time I will make any political comments here. That’s a promise. I will simply skip the political claptrap and move onto what I’ve assumed for years to be the Place for Enlightenment……………….

    • Trish and Rob says:

Trump is agitating all that you find despicable. The Darkness is within him, period. Stop supporting him. Do you not see what is coming? You used to despise the man. You said he was a sick person. You said he was having an affair with Kellyanne. What happened to you? Did your right wing husband and sons and Fox News finally wear you down, and now you believe the monster?

    • Nancy says:

CJ, I do not stand behind ANY hate speech against ANYONE. Why is everything he says ALWAYS deflected to someone else? Why can’t he just be judged on what he says? When the President of the United States leads chants to “lock her up”, condones violence against a journalist doing their job by offering to pay for legal fees to body slam him, denigrates the media CONSTANTLY, tells lies on a daily basis, and literally only cares about his own base, then I have every right to stand up and say ENOUGH!

    • Trish and Rob says:

Here’s what you said in March, C.J.

“Another compelling aspect about my hypothesis that DJT is not 100% humanoid, is a study of his chakra system. That orange hair, as mentioned, covers the Crown Chakra, which is a deep indigo or purple, and on occasion, white. It’s the most spiritual chakra through which our Higher Self, our highest Consciousness, flows. His is blocked by the orange. Most here are familiar with the colors of each chakra and the meaning or purpose each carries. No surprise in his regard. If he were to shed his human facade, I shudder to think what his true appearance would be. Long ago I was taught that if we place a photo of a person’s face in front of our vision and stare at it, squinting our eyes and blinking only when necessary, we will ultimately actually see other faces appear over the current one. I’ve used this method of scrying and found it to be extraordinary. It takes practice, and it functions like a vague yet definitive ‘slide show’ as faces come and go across the photograph. DJT doesn’t have a reptilian face. It’s much, much worse and indescribably terrifying. Unrecognizable yet very clear. That “man” ain’t human!!!!!!!

    • Trish and Rob says:

The MAGA bomber sent two pipe bombs to Maxine Waters. Tonight, not two days after the bomber tried to blow up Waters, Trump went after her again at a rally tonight. He threw out her name like red meat for the base. Sick.

    • Nancy says:

I understand what you are saying, CJ. I have had to do much the same thing in order to keep myself from going over the edge after losing my husband. The 24-hour news cycle feeds our worst fears and insecurities. That’s why I have put some distance between some of my friends and family. They trigger the anger and resentment I feel towards Trump.Yesterday was good, in that we all finally got to express the anger and emotions we’ve been carrying around for the last two years, on both sides, but have been unable to express because of the huge divide in our country. A bit like the steam from a tea pot on the stove. We are all on edge with the recent violence, but we can no longer talk things out with people we used to be able to do that with. It is no longer safe, not if we want to maintain those relationships beyond this administration.

      Wishing you health and happiness.

  5. Darren B says:

Here is a synch for you in relation to this post.
They arrested Cesar Sayoc, 56, of Aventura for posting those bombs.
Jim Carrey is famous for his movie role as ‘Ace Ventura’ .
I guess you could also write Ace’s name as A.Ventura?-)
I wonder if any of those packages sent gave themselves away by
    “smokin'”?

    https://www.9news.com.au/world/2018/10/27/07/45/bomb-suspect-cesar-sayoc-described-as-loner

    • Trish and Rob says:

Good one. You aced it! Huffington Post labeling him the MAGA bomber.

    • Trish and Rob says:

Darren, what do Australians think of Trump?

      • Darren B says:

Most of us (including me) from what I can tell think he is a f#cking dickhead and don’t know whether to just laugh, be frightened of what he can do to the world, or both.
Of course there are similar “Nationalists” over here who think he is wonderful.
But ironically, they seem to be in the minority:-)

        • Rob MacGregor says:

It’s the same in Europe, the right-wing white nationalist fringe like him. Here in the U.S., the nationalists used to be a fringe of the Republican Party. Now they are at the center of it, and regular non-racist conservatives have been pushed to the fringe, or right out of the party.

          • Trish and Rob says:

All we hear about from the Republicans is this caravan of people walking toward the United States from Honduras, who are a thousand miles away. They number about the student body of two high schools. They’re coming for jobs, for a better life, just like everyone else who has immigrated here over the past 200 years. But the Republican make it a race issue—brown people coming to rape and kill. Just racist nonsense to stir up the base.

  6. nancy says:

What I find so disturbing is the massive number of people that continue to support him despite his constant lying, hate-filled speech he spews on a daily basis, and the obvious fascist dictators he embraces. Many of these people are my friends and family. Normally kind, educated, successful people. I’m at a loss to explain this phenomenon.

    • Trish and Rob says:

Yes, even right here we have Trump supporters wearing their blinders against all that he says, all that he does, especially to incite violence. They think he gave us tax breaks, when in reality he gave the upper .001% big tax breaks, and a few bucks to the middle class. Maybe enough to buy a cup of coffee from Starbucks once a week.

      • Trish and Rob says:

Trump has made clear that he accepts no responsibility for contributing the current disfunctional political discourse. He says that he is the victim. That is so Trumpian. It’s always about him, and he takes no responsibility. How can anyone find him to be a legitamate president?

        • nancy says:

But how to explain the blind devotion? They would have eaten the Obama’s alive for even ONE of his hate-filled tweets. It is so weird. I literally have had to take a break from people I love. I hope something happens for them to see how dangerous this man really is for our country, family, friends. Citing Democrats as “evil?” Unbelievable that ANYONE would listen to ANYTHING so hateful. Maybe Fox News has done subliminal brain washing…

          • Trish and Rob says:

And the media as the enemy of the people. No wonder CNN received a bomb in the mail. Probably more of this stuff coming. Even today Trump is blaming the media, taking no responsibility. He wants all media to act just like FOX News—lying along with the master liar. Go figure.

            • Nancy says:

We live in some extremely scary times. Never in a million years would I have ever thought someone in the WHITE HOUSE would talk with such venom about the very people he is supposed to serve and protect. It is clear he is sending a message to the media, and anyone else who doesn’t agree with hm to either toe the line, HIS line, or he will incite the wackos to do as they will.

          • bh says:

Nancy, if your political differences have caused you to take a break from people you love, that should tell you something important.

If people you love and respect disagree with you, and the only explanation you can come up with for their position is that they are blind or stupid, it’s a pretty good bet you don’t understand their position.

            • nancy says:

bh, I respectfully disagree. I totally understand where they are coming from. And I have never said they are blind or stupid. Where did you come up with that? Please do not put words in my mouth. I am not challenging your opinion. You have a right to your opinion, and I did not respond to it. However, you feel free to school me on mine. I do not agree with standing behind a president that continually does all of the things that I stated in a response to CJ. And I am very disappointed in those I love to stand behind such a man. “Any man that can do a body slam, is my kind of man”. That, from the President of the United States. Shameful.

      • bh says:

Please show me one example of the president inciting violence. Be specific, please. Not an innuendo, not a off-the-cuff remark taken out of context and repeated over an over by MSNBC hosts, but his actual words, in context. Video preferred, but a transcript will be acceptable, as long as there is sufficient context to discern intent. Compare and contrast your example with the words of Maxine Waters, Hillary Clinton, and Eric Holder, to name just a few of the prominent Democrats whose recent words have actively encouraged violence against those who disagree with them.

And when you finish that assignment, show me an example of the president using hateful or racist language, or supporting or participating in any racist organization. Same constraints as above with regard to context, please. Video preferred.

Same assignment for Nancy on the fascist dictators, if she’d like to participate too.

As for the tax cut, would you like to see my tax returns? Pay stubs from before and after the tax cut? I’m not anywhere near the top .001%, but I assure you the tax cut has bought me more than a cup of coffee. Maybe it’s “crumbs” to the likes of you and Nancy Pelosi, but to me it’s a substantial sum of money. Telling me I didn’t get a tax break seems rather silly when I can clearly see that I did. Maybe you didn’t? Or perhaps your income is high enough that you just didn’t notice. For the rest of us, we like being able to keep more of our own money.

        • Trish and Rob says:

Oh,c’mon. wake up, go back to the campaign. “Get that guy out of here. I don’t care if you hit him. I’ll pay for your legal bills.” He said that in front of a hall of thousands. He said many things like that. Wake up, man.

        • Trish and Rob says:

Do your own research. You can do it. You can take off the blinders. I don’t need to feed you the obvious. You won’t believe it anyhow.

          • bh says:

That’s a cop-out, and you know it. Research is my thing, and I’m very good at it.

Which is precisely why I asked you for specifics. And you don’t have any. All you have is MSNBC repeating the same line over and over again. It’s a tactic straight out of Alinsky, if you repeat a lie often enough it becomes the truth.

The frustrating thing for those of us who know better is that it works on so many people. Which is why we’re in the state we’re in.

            • Trish and Rob says:

Are you serious? You are an incredible apologist for Trump. You must know he lies every day, if you are really such a researcher. You are just following his lead, fake news. You are also projecting just like Trump does. He blames others for what he does, just like you are doing.

You asked for one example of Trump inciting violence and I gave you several. I said it wouldn’t matter, because you believe it. You just proved it. You apparently don’t believe that Trump told a crowd in Montana that he liked their congressman because he body-slammed a reporter. That’s not inciting violence? Get real.

Who is ‘all of us who know better,’ anyhow? Trump supporters who shout ‘Lock her up,’ and ‘CNN sucks’? Really, man, you need to do some actual research. What you’re doing is looking for excuses, and this is no time for excuses.

The man in the Oval Office is a troubled soul. He was tweeting political crap, putting ‘bombs’ in quotes, as if he didn’t believe there were any. All of this at 3 a.m.

            • Trish and Rob says:

Here’s something else you should research, because you won’t find it on your right-wing web sites. When President Trump calls old friends on one of his iPhones to gossip, gripe or solicit their latest take on how he is doing, American intelligence reports indicate that Chinese spies are often listening — and putting to use invaluable insights into how to best work the president and affect administration policy, current and former American officials said.

So he wasn’t really concerned about Hillary’s e-mails at all. It was just a political ploy. “Lock her up.” Did you know that the creator that phrase is now awaiting sentencing for prison? Another research project for you. Lock him up…

        • Trish and Rob says:

Go to one of his rallies. It’s like mob rule, and he’s leading the cheers. “The media is that enemy of the people.” So what do we do with enemies? We kill them. Wake up, man.

        • Trish and Rob says:

The new normal, thanks to Trump, is that someone can drive around with a van with photos of Democrats with targets on their heads. And nobody says anything.

        • Trish and Rob says:

Your assignment is to wake up.

        • Trish and Rob says:

Trump to his billionaire friends at Mar a Lago after the tax cut passed: “I just made you guys a lot richer.”

        • Trish and Rob says:

Time for you to visit Dailyl Stormer, B.H., for an update on your side of things.

        • Trish and Rob says:

If Trump doesn’t want to be called a liar by Water and Pelosi, and CNN, then I suggest that he stops lying. His lies are documented daily. You can look them up, if you can get away from InfoWars and other the right wing web sites.

          • Trish and Rob says:

Remember when the Washington Post reporter was tortured and murdered in Turkey three weeks ago? Do you remember what Trump said at a rally in Montana right when the murder was getting all the coverage? He praised a congressman for body slamming a reporter. Wouldn’t you say that was a little insensitive? It was clearly an example of praising violence. The congressman plead guilty to assault and apologized to the Guardian reporter. His encouragement of violence comes in many forms. Here’s a look at a few more examples that might open your eyes…but probably not, if you’re still with him at this point. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/back-trump-comments-perceived-encouraging-violence/story?id=48415766

            • bh says:

I don’t believe words cause bombs to be sent through the mail. I believe crazy people who send bombs through the mail cause bombs to be sent through the mail.

That said, here’s a short montage of violent words (and actions) coming from folks on the left. Several of the people who received bombs in the mail are featured prominently in this one, including Maxine Waters, Corey Booker, and Hillary Clinton (warning: video contains graphic scenes and language).

              https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzBEeVOw4q

If you want to pretend words cause violence, then let’s put all the words on the table, not just the president’s. Isn’t it possible that their words led to the bomber’s actions?

              • Trish and Rob says:

Words matter, especially when they come from the president. He has a large platform, the largest in the world and he’s using it like some angry teenage boy.

              • Trish and Rob says:

Language is powerful. Look at history- milk, Reagan, Ecker, jfk, Gandhi. Language is one of humanity’s most powerful tools for survival. You know this CJ, as well as we do. BH- to not speak your truth, whatever it is, is to deny your own perceptions and experience.- Trish

              • Trish and Rob says:

“Knock the crap out of him, will you. I’ll pay your legal bill.” …”I’d like to punch him in the face.” There’s too more for you, B.H. Trump speaking from the podium. He encourages violence. It’s all on video. Yet, you who claims to be some sort of super research apparently didn’t know any of this. Weird.

              • Trish and Rob says:

Here’s some more dirt for you. Of course, you probably don’t trust the ‘failing New York Times’ when you can read more reliable stuff on InfoWars. But just in case you want to look at some real research, here you go. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/16/us/trump-rally-violence.html

I am a nationalist. I came to this country when I was 8 months old and adopted it as my own. I became a US citizen on my 19th birthday. I love America. This country has given me everything I have, and I owe my allegiance and my loyalty to it. I spent 3 years in the military, and would gladly have given my life to protect my country and its people. I almost did once. I believe America is the greatest country on earth, and I believe the American people represent the best the world has to offer. We are a nation of immigrants, an amalgamation of people and cultures whose whole is greater than the sum of its parts. I believe our system of government is a shining example of what the rest of the world should strive to be. I put the American people first, before those of any other nation, including the one I came from. I am a nationalist.

    And I’m not white.

There are people who call themselves “white nationalists”. They are racists, and they are filled with hate. They despise people who look like me, because I am not one of them. They can call themselves whatever they want, but that doesn’t change who they are. They can call me whatever they want, but that doesn’t change who I am. They are white supremacists. They’ve chosen “nationalist” as a euphemism because it sounds better, but that doesn’t change the meaning of the word. Words have meanings. I like the NY Mets. Some of them like the NY Mets too – does that make me one of them? I call myself a nationalist. They call themselves nationalists too – does that make me one of them? If so, then why? If not, then why does a different standard apply to Donald Trump?

David Duke can tweet whatever he wants. If he supports Donald Trump, and I support Donald Trump, does that make us alike? Or am I supposed to automatically oppose anything (or anyone) he supports? That would make me no better than him. And I am better than him.

What percentage of nationalists are non-white? Not those guys in Charlottesville. Why would you want to align with such malevolent characters? I don’t get it.

You seem to think misguided means “thinks differently from me”. It does not.

And nationalist does not mean what the so-called “white nationalists” want it to mean, either. There’s already a word for them, so use that one. Let nationalist mean what it has always meant.

“Brown nationalist” sounds pretty silly, doesn’t it? So does “white nationalist”, from my perspective. Putting a color in front of the word doesn’t change its meaning. Call me a brown nationalist if you want, but it still doesn’t make me a racist.

Trump is ruining your definition of this country, B.H.

      • bh says:

I see you removed your “misguided” comment above.

Still, it seems you believe words can be redefined at will to mean whatever you want them to mean. So if by “ruining the country”, you mean making the country stronger, creating a tax environment that leads to economic prosperity and creates jobs, negotiating trade deals that encourage fairness and transparency among our trading partners – then yes, he is indeed “ruining the country”. Or did you mean something else? See what happens when you start redefining words?

      • Trish and Rob says:

Trump made no mention of the FBI in his comments about the arrest of the bomber, and he has not called former presidents who were targets. More shameful behavior. Unfortunately,Sayoc, who is a registered Republican and avid Trump supporter, actually believes what Trump says and listened closely to Trump’s vitriolic public speeches.

I could not agree more. Of course he knows what the buzz words are, and he uses them mercilessly. I pray we will take back at least one house of Congress in a few weeks.

A free range president is an apt description. Intriguing post.
