Bernard Beitman is the first psychiatrist since Carl Jung to undertake a serious study of synchronicity or meaningful coincidence. He’s also the author of two books on the subject, “Connecting with Coincidence” and “Meaningful Coincidences: How and Why Synchronicity and Serendipity Happen.” Bernie is currently a visiting professor at the University of Virginia. In late 2019, he started The Coincidence Project, a group of people researching and writing about synchronicity.

I’m actually writing a post up now about some meaningful coincidences that happened to me (and Cliff Dunning) while listening to Bernie on Cliff’s ‘Earth Ancients’ podcast –

The main coincidence is that I listened to the next podcast the week after Bernie’s because Cliff had a podcast about Robert Schoch, of who I happened to be watching a DVD featuring him at the time, that I was contemplating on giving away to a friend who likes going to Peru.

The kicker though is that the episode before when Cliff was talking to Bernie they were talking about the scarab beetle of Jung’s (the scarab beetle represents the heart to the Ancient Egyptians) and a number of factors that seemed heart related to me … and the next episode Cliff starts off saying how he suffered a heart attack while hiking and spent 2 Days in hospital being diagnosed with a blocked artery in the heart, which he then had to have a stent put in to fix.
I’ll bet Bernie didn’t hear about that happening to cliff, just after his chat with Cliff.
