Recently, Casey DeSantis, Gov Ron’s wife, wore a green dresses straight out of The Handmaid’s Tale. It’s the dress the commander’s wives wear in the story. I mentioned it to Rob and he replied, “That’s a sychronicity.” Meaning, that it fit the governor’s agenda of autocratic rule, abortion ban after 6 weeks, banning of books, targeting trans and gays and any other group he personally objects to, taking over liberaal New College of of Florid and turning it into a religious right college.
But I think it was as deliberate as Melania Trump wearing that jacket with I DON’T CARE ACROSS the back when she went to the border to visit immigrant kids in cages. Casey radiates the part.
Did you know that the surname DeSantis means ‘Blameworthy’? –

Wow! Didn’t know that It sure fits!
So old Ronnie boy making news in Oz, too! Good. Wish to hell he’d leave Florida!
Yeah, that news story is fresh off the press on the ABC news site today.
The ABC is like your PBS network, I guess.
They tend to trend to the left, as opposed to Rupert Murdoch’s News.com.au site, which tends to trend to the right, as you would well know having the Fox network over there, which is basically the same thing.
Personally, I try to keep to the center of the political spectrum, with slight biases toward the left.
Being a centrist in the U.S. is a luxury, Daz. The way this country is going – with book banning, the discrimination against people of color, trans an gay, banning abortion, what they’re doing in Florida schools and eelsewheree – we’re headed for Fascism if something doesn’t change.
When I look at that photo of the DeSantis couple the old saying “blue and green should never be seen” comes to mind 🙂

Suggested origins of that saying on a couple of forums…
Sailors thought it was bad luck to paint a boat green, as it couldn’t be seen easily against the blue water if it capsized.
Blue and green are too similar to be easily distinguished in black and white film … and even a reference to bruises. 😉

Wow. That saying fits them.
