Florida’s governor Desantis has shown who he really is with his newest gig – a detention center for supposedly illegal immigrants out in the Florida Everglades. This whole thing is deeply cruel and inhumane and has echoes of Drachua. You know, one of more than 44,000 concentration camps in Nazi Germany.
Built in 1933 , it existed until 1945. It was Hitler’s longest running concentration camp and the place where he sent his enemies of the state -i.e., his political enemies – as well as murderers, and other criminals, many of them Jews who hadn’t committed any crime except that they were Jews. More than 200,000 people were incarcerated at Dachua and scholars estimate that 40,000 of them died. Yes, there was a gas chamber and also a medical experiment area.
Trump apparently loves the idea and is seeking other sites where such concentration camps can be built.
