Mercury Retrograde

Mercury retrograde begins on November 9, in Sagittarius, at 2:02 PM Eastern time and 11:02 AM Pacific. It ends on the 29th, at 12:38 PM Eastern and at 9:38 AM Pacific, in Scorpio. This is the period when the planet Mercury appears to be moving backward relative to Earth. And yes, it’s when things tend to go haywire.

Mercury rules communication, the conscious mind, travel, how we learn. Communication is often first casualty. You say something you believe is simple, straight forward, but your partner or your kids hear it differently. You miss an appointment. You get lost on the way to an appointment. You sign a contract that later unravels.

It happens 3-4 times a year and the worst times are during holidays. Your flight is delayed or cancelled. This is already happening frequently, thanks to the gov’t shutdown that republicans are blaming on democrats even though the repugs control the three branches of gov’t.It’s a regular talking point for them.

I once wrote Florida’s repug senator – Ashley Moody – about something and went onto her email list. She repeated the same talking point in a recent email & I wrote her back that she was incorrect. The repugs want to pretty much cancel health care for millions of Americans and the dems refuse to sign off on that. I suspect this may get worse during the retrograde. Already, Sean Duffy is threatening to cancel air travel because so many unpaid air traffic controllers are calling in sick.

Mercury rules both Gemini and Virgo, so these periods are often gag worthy for them. So, a bit of advice for all of us: don’t sign contracts during this period. If you have to travel, try to go with the flow, whatever that flow is.Don’t take anything for granted.Follow the rules of the 3 Rs: review, revise, reconsider.

& if you have a politically divided family, you might want to skip Thanksgiving altogether or enjoy it with like-minded friends.
