Thanks to the shutdown, air travel is a chaotic mess. Fortunately, we aren’t traveling for the Thanksgiving holidays.But millions of Americans are.
FAA personnel aren’t being paid – but members of congress are still getting paychecks for what has amounted to a protracted vacation. Why? Why are they still getting paid and most government workers are not? Why are SNAP recipients being denied payments? Sean Duffy acts like he gives a damn about flight safety by cancelling a percentage of flights from 40 of the busiest airports.
He and his party of sycophants use whatever is at their disposal to place pressure on the democrats to end the shutdown. But the dems didn’t create it. The repugs did. They control the three branches of goverment. The dems are holding out for health care, food benefits, the humane minutia like, you know,making sure kids and adults don’t starve.
Trump could end this nightmare and all the others he has created, in seconds. But he loves this chaos, embraces it, perhaps because it makes him feel like a guy with large hands. It’s all so cruel and repulsive.
Journalists talk about how history will portray this period in our country. But this isn’t about history. It’s about right now. Where Americans are suffering, freaking out, dying because of this admin’s vindictive policies.
