It’s the height of football season – not that Trish cares – but Rob pays attention to some degree and spotted a good synchro in the mix this year.
First, I should say that I grew up in Minneapolis as a Vikings fan. Last year, the Vikings quarterback was Sam Arnold, who won 14 of the 17 games. He came in as a so-so back quarterback to replace the rookie J.J. McCarthy, who was injured in the first game and was seen – and still is – as the team’s #1 quarterback. But then Sam went on to win 14 of 17 games and no longer looked like a back-up. However, he lost the last game of the season to the Detroit Lion, then lost the first playoff game. So the team unceremoniously dumped him. Bye-bye, Sam.
Along came the Seattle Seahawk, who picked up Darnold, and gave him a 3-year contract. So this season he did it again. He won 14 of 17 games. Two years in a row, and the Seahawks are the #1 ranked team in the NFC playoffs, which gives them a value week off before entering the playoffs.
I’ve listened to the sports commentators waiting for at least one of them to notice the obvious synchronicity. So far, I haven’t heard any of them mention that Sam Darnold won 14 games in ’24, 14 games in ’25, and…guess what, his jersey # is 14.
A long-winded explanation of a number synchro, but there it is.

And the number 14 adds up to 5- the number of freedom!

Hi Daz, NFL fans in Australia, who knew? Not me. Interesting that you don’t like your own hometown football (soccer) team. I’m kind of the same about Florida’s three NFL teams – Miami Dolphins (closest to us), Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Jacksonville Jaguars. I don’t care about any of them. Being from Minneapolis, I’m a Minnesota Vikings fan. They won their last five games of the season this year, but didn’t get in the playoffs. In doing so, they knocked the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions out of the playoffs, as well. I’m cheering the Seahawks in the playoffs. Vikings should’ve kept Darnold for another season.
Being a Seahawks fan, I couldn’t help but put a comment in here, even though I haven’t commented here for quite some time for various reasons, but this one is too good to not comment on, so I will, whether you see the synchronicity or not.
Last year I visited America for the first time when my youngest son mostly paid for our trip to see our Australian Rugby League team The Sharks play in Las Vegas for the start of the NRL season.
We then went to Denver, because my son is a Denver Broncos supporter and a South Park fan, and visited the Denver Bronco stadium, but they weren’t doing tours midweek, so we just walked around the stadium and then went into the shop so he could buy some Bronco stuff to take home.
Then we flew to Seattle, because I’m a Seahawks fan since the 1980s, and we did a tour of the Seahawks stadium (and they even let us hold the 12 flag and get a photo taken for free).
Our tour guides of the stadium then told us that they were hold a World Cup match there in 2026, and we thought “who cares”, as we thought that they would be two teams that we couldn’t care less about, but now seeing the draw from a 2026 POV, it turns out those two teams happen to be Australia vs. the USA.
That is a game I would love to be there to see, but that probably won’t be happening.
I get home today from work, and my son tells me that the Seahawks and the Broncos finished top of their tables this year … what are the odds.
On another synchromystic note, the team I hate most in the NRL is my hometown team the Brisbane Broncos, who fluked their way to winning the NRL Grand Final last year.
Do a search on my blog for the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos to see the pictures and posts of our time in America if you don’t believe me.
We tried to plan on visiting Florida on our trip, but my son said you either go to Florida or Seattle, but you can’t do both, and I chose Seattle … sorry.
Anyway, I hope you guys are fine over there.
Cheers Daz
Good to hear from you, Daz!! It has been awhile! I hope you come to Fl next time – although Washington state really is beautiful!
