Metaphors as Synchronicities

The reflecting pool. Like so many of trump’s vanity projects, this one has become the perfect metaphor for his presidency.

He boasts about how beautiful it will be – the water a flag blue, so clear and stunning that it will surpass anything people have ever seen. Uh-huh. The cost has now risen to more than 16 million, the pool is  filled with algae that has turned it deeply green, and the blue paint is peeling off the bottom.

Remember how long the Iran war was supposed to last – what? A week or two? Remember why he said the east wing was torn down?  Remember how trump gloated about having his name on the Kennedy  Center? & when a judge ordered it to be taken down, he ordered a tarp to be draped over – apparently to spare himself the humiliation of seeing his named removed.

But the synchronicity of the reflecting pool pretty much says it all. The guy whose MAGA motto promised the best economy, the best country ever in the history of the world, is exposed, daily, for the sludge he has created, for his inhumanity and cruelty. He has weaponized the justice department and surrounded himself with sycophants as morally corrupt as he is.

Well, welcome to trump’s, america. It’s a humiliating embarrassment. And synchronicity embraces that reflecting pool as the metaphor for it all.
