It’s tragic for us – this country, the world- when someone like Parton passes on.
She was emblematic of more than music. In spite of her fame, she always came across as a genuine human being, someone you’d love to sit down with over coffee or a drink and just listen to her talk or, even better, have a conversation with her.
And what an interesting synchronicity that meteorologists are talking about how the next named hurricane will be Dolly. Not the kind of synchro I want to hear!
However, our podcast producer, Jon Posey, called Dolly “a force of nature.” So that hurricane synchro make perfect sense!
Just heard about this today, and recalled a retroactive synchro. Yesterday we were having lunch at IHOP, which plays nonstop vintage music (aka – oldies) for ambience. One of the songs we heard was Islands in the Stream, a duet with Dolly and Kenny Rogers. At the time, we were unaware of her passing; today it’s a synchro.
