Barbarians

On December 3, the execution of Nidal Hasan , who fatally shot 13 unarmed US soldiers at Fort Hood in 2009, will be livestreamed. He’ll be executed by firing squad. Hegseth announced this today and & hey, the public will be able to watch!

The last public execution in this country happened on August 14, 1936, in Owensboro, Kentucky, when an African American man, Rainey Bethea – convicted of rape and the murder of Lishia Edwards, a 70-year-old woman – was hanged. The spectacle drew thousands of spectators & so much negative media coverage that the Kentucky General Assembly passed a law the following year prohibiting public executions.

Other U.S .states moved away from these public atrocities, which ended the practice nationwide.

Daily, this administration exhibits its barbarism  and inhumanity. Daily, we draw closer to Nazi Germany.

Vote early, and vote BLUE If this country, if Democracy, is to survive, the entire administration has to go. Bad enough that we still have the death penalty – BUT THIS??

Excellent renouncing of the return of publicly viewed executions. I have been sick about this. I hope people shun it in droves.
