Star Power: Astrology Forecast for April

An important transit occurred on March 30 that I didn’t address in the March Star Power. Neptune entered cardinal fire sign Aries, the beginning of the zodiac. For the past 14 years, it has been in Pisces, the sign it rules, the last sign in the zodiac. Neptune governs spirituality, the paranormal, heightened creativity, your visionary self and your illusions, the hidden, the unconscious, mystical tendencies. It can result in deception, fantasies, a mixed up sense of reality.

It will be in Aries for the next 14 years. Until 2039. What can we expect? Well, the last time Neptune was in Aries was between 1861 and 1875. The American Civil War was between 1861-1965. With trumpies in charge, cozying up to Russia and Putin, we may find ourselves in another war. It will oppose Libra and square other cardinal signs – Cancer, Capricorn. With Neptune involved in different aspects, fantasies and deception may be part of the medley.

About every 36 years, Saturn and Neptune are conjunct, but on February 20, 2026, they will both be at 00 degrees Aries. Saturn rules structures, rules, physical reality, government. Sounds like the opposite of the areas that Neptune rules, right? Richard Tarnas, in his fantastic book Cosmos and Psyche, has a fascinating section on Saturn/Neptune periods when epistemological conflicts between religion and science – and opposing political parties – are heightened, and skepticism runs wild in both directions.
History offers a perspective, but it doesn’t necessarily illuminate what happens this time around, between 2025 and 2039. And with the trump administration in office now, deception and distraction are the MO.

So locate where Aries is in your birth chart and see how things change as Neptune begins its very slow transit.

Here the dates to watch for this month:

April 7 – Mercury turns direct

APRIL 12- Full moon in Libra, squared by Mars in Cancer

April 16 – Mercury conjunct Neptune in Aries – it entered that sign on 3/30

April 27 – new moon Taurus, Pluto widely square
