Jupiter enters Cancer
On June 9, Jupiter enters Cancer, where it will transit for the next year or so. Jupiter governs expansion, luck, synchronicity, and rules foreign cultures, people, & countries and also the law and higher education.
I wish I could say it’s going to blow apart everything that’s going haywire in the current administration, but every time I’ve tried to read trump’s chart in terms of transits, I’ve been wrong. I’ve seen only what I’d hoped to see. BUT, trump’s 2nd win was probably helped by Jupiter’s transit through Gemini, where he has his sun, Uranus, and his North Node, all in his 10th house of career.
But wherever it appears in YOUR chart is where you’ll experience the good stuff this planet offers. If you know your time of birth, you can look up your chart here. If you don’t know your time of birth, use 12 noon. The position & house placement if Jupiter should be correct. Here are definitions of the houses.
If you were born with Jupiter in Cancer, then you’re entering a Jupiter return year, which typically is a lucky year.This happens every 11.6 years – call it 12 years. Empathy – & June 14
You have to put down a beloved pet. A friend stops by to give you a hug, to assure you that you aren’t alone. He or she understands what you’re feeling and, more than that, feels what you feel. That’s what empathy is.
One of the things I remember clearly about the Biden presidency was how the media addressed his empathy towards others who had lost loved ones. Joe had experienced that kind of loss – a wife and daughter in a car accident when he began in the senate, and later, his son Beau’s death to the same type of brain cancer that killed John McCain.
One of the things I’ll remember about trump is his lack of empathy for anyone. But it’s not just a lack. It’s an inability to feel anything for anyone else. Something inside trump is just not there. It’s missing, like some essential chromosome or gene that makes us human.
The night that Senator Corey Booker spoke for 25 hours in congress without so much as a restroom break, I understood what empathy looks like when it’s expanded, broadened, inclusive. I understood how it looks when a politician is first a human being who feels for others.
No one with an ounce of empathy would cut off food to to children who are starving, to vets who need medical assistance, to a woman bleeding out in a parking lot from a miscarriage, to immigrants who fled here to escape oppression, to a senior who survives on a social security check or is in a nursing home on Medicaid. So much that trump and his buddy musk & the rest of his administration have done is unconscionable.
It’s so lacking in any kind of empathy that in my mind it comes together in a single image : the planet in its death throes because a man is so consumed with himself that he can’t see anything else. The world revolves around him. He is king of the world. When he waves his magic wand to commit his next horror, who will stop him?
Trump is the sum total of every dictator who has existed.
So go protest on June 14. Indivisible is having them all over the country.

The Trickster, Years Back….
In 2015, after trump decided to run for president,Rob & I wrote a proposal for a non-fiction book on the Trickster, one of the Jungian archetypes, and it was about the orange man. The agent said it wouldn’t sell unless we were, you know, in the media. Or important enough.
We discuss the orange trickster quite a bit in Mind-Blowing Synchronicities. Here’s one of the mentions:
Parkland
On February 14, 2018, Nikolas Cruz, 19, shot 17 students and injured another 17 at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Cruz was an expelled former student. He was caught within an hour of the massacre. He pleaded guilty to 17 counts of murder and attempted murder in October of 2021.
He went to trial in October 2022, the trial took a month, and prosecutors called for the death penalty. His defense attorneys argued that he was mentally ill and the jury’s recommendation was life without parole. Cruz is now 24 years old.
The day after the shooting, Trump tweeted: So many signs that the Florida shooter was mentally disturbed, even expelled from school for bad and erratic behavior. Neighbors and classmates knew he was a big problem. Must always report such instances to authorities, again and again!
After these mass shootings, the pro-gun lobby and their elected collaborators in Congress always shift quickly away from the issue of guns and turn to mental illness. In this instance, Trump even blames the students for not taking action.
Meanwhile, Florida Senator Marco Rubio said on the Senate floor that it’s “unfair to blame Congress” for these shootings. He essentially said that the shootings would happen anyhow even if Congress finally passed some gun legislation. He’s right about that, especially because Congress would never pass any gun control measures with any teeth in them. They won’t even pass legislation to keep people on the government’s terrorist watch list from buying guns. They won’t pass universal background checks. And, they won’t even bring up a bill to keep guns out of the hands of people who are mentally ill. These actions are widely favored by Americans, but Congress won’t touch them because they fear retribution from gun makers, represented by the National Rifle Association.
So here’s the synchronicity: the day of the above tweet by Trump marked the one-year anniversary of his signing a bill into law that made it actually easier for mentally ill people to buy guns. Yet, In the tweet, he chastises the students for not doing anything. A shameful anniversary.
Interestingly, Trump signed that bill quietly and out of sight of the press. However, White House photographers say there are pictures of Trump signing it. CBS News made five requests for those pictures, but the Trump White House wouldn’t release them. At least they recognized that the truth would look bad, and the truth was that Trump made it easier for mentally ill people to carry out mayhem.
What wasn’t included in this piece: that a mentally ill president made it easier for the mentally ill too buy guns.

First, it was the book banning, with Florida leading the way in 2024 with 4,561 books. George Orwell’s 1984 still holds the top spot for banned books.
Now, Florida is the second state to buy into RFK’s edict that flouride is bad so our illustrious governor has banned its use in pubic water. A reminder: RFK has NO medical experience and shouldn’t be the head of Health & Human Services.
Oklahoma is the first state that will teach in high school that 2020 election conspiracy theories are fact. I suspect that Florida will soon follow.
Dumbing down America seems to be the administration’s intent. After all, dumb, uneducated people are the easier to fool into believing whatever bullshit you want them to believe.
