On the Flipside of Isaac

Street in front of our house. And the rain is still falling. That little island is our mailbox. The UPS truck went by and created waves! White caps! Amazingly, we still have electricity and Internet.

Thinking of you and hoping everything calms down some, now that it’s almost passed you. Right? Hugs!

Trish and Rob, our best local chief meteorologist in Jax said that in his 32 years of reporting here, he’s never seen impacts like this from a storm so far out in the ocean. Isaac’s size is pretty intimidating. Will be a hurricane shortly. Is only four degrees from that now. Poor New Orleans.

In the 40 years I’ve lived here, I’ve never seen anything like it. I’m scared for new orleans. For the whole gulf coast. The water in our neighborhood is so high we may not be able to get out tomorrow unless our neighbor’s expedition can get through it all.

I hope you have a boat to collect your mail ?-)
And I hope the rain stops soon for you all.
Here’s a song that seems relevant to the occasion

I’m so sorry to see this……….it must be very frightening. I’m sending you some of our very dry Arizona good wishes, and prayers that you and your home are not harmed.

    • Rob and Trish says:

Thanks, Lauren. I’ll bottle up some water and send it your way!
Not frightening so much as perplexing. Isaac is now way far from us. These feeder bands are dumping the rain. In my 40 years in
this state, I’ve never seen anything like this.

    Ditto here.
