The Aliens Are Back…

Today marks the official pub date for Aliens in the Backyard. We’re excited about this book for a number of reasons. While the topic of alien abductions has been around for a few decades now, we take an approach that is distinct and unique.

In essence, Aliens in the Backyard is our third book on synchronicity, following The 7 Secrets of Synchronicity and Synchronicity and the Other Side. We haven’t  seen any books that take a close look at the abundance of meaningful coincidences that often occur in the aftermath of UFO encounters or abductions. For Charles Fontaine, one of the four experiencers whom we focus on, such synchronicities were startling, mind-blowing. They also led him to us.

Beyond synchronicity,  we uncovered a specific type of psychic ability that many abductees and experiencers developed in the aftermath of their encounters. We call them ‘planetary empaths.’  They are so attuned to the planet that hours or days before a planetary disaster – earthquakes, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis and even man-made disasters like 9-11- they experience a wide variety of physical symptoms and know that something big is coming.

We also explore the possible connections between an American naval base in the Bahamas known as AUTEC – Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center – and USOs – unidentified submerged objects – and the Bermuda Triangle. We have stories from people who worked at AUTEC about some of the incredible things they experienced. We’re also the only UFO investigators who actually talked to the commander of AUTEC about UFOs…and that was another synchronicity.

We started out the book  in a way that might surprise some readers in that the first chapter deals with a trip to an island in southern Chile to investigate a ghost ship, the Caleuche. The legend of the Caleuche, which many islanders believe are based on real experiences, is closely linked to the abduction phenomenon in that the mysterious ship is manned by a crew of brujos, or witches, who abduct islanders.

Besides Charles Fontaine’s dramatic story that take place in Quebec, we follow the story of pilot Bruce Gernon, who was pursued by a ‘cloud’ while flying through the Bermuda Triangle. We also write about Connie Canon’s experience with aliens on a military base, and Diane Fine’s story of losing a baby during an apparent abduction.

While many serious books about ufology avoid the topic of abductions and rarely mention synchronicity, we pursue both topics with a  sense of adventure. While the ‘old hippies’ of ufology might shrug and say, ‘Oh, another book about abductions…ho hum,’ we think we’ve written something unique. We think we have a winner!

Oh, another reason we’re psyched about Feb. 4 is that it’s the fourth anniversary of our blog!

Tonight we’ll be on Coast to Coast AM from 11 PM – 2AM pacific coast time. Here on the east coast, that translates to 2-5AM on the morning of February 5. Bring on the coffee!

I was listening to a ” Radio Out There” podcast from last night (PROGRAM 424)
    https://radiooutthere.com/blog/2013/02/07/program-424/
” An In Depth Preview of The Chinese Year of the Snake” ,and they mention the
Indiana Jones movies were the snakes guard the temples.
I was thinking of Rob’s books when they said this.
I’ve been thinking “The Year of the Snake” is going to be special for me,even though I’m a Dragon in the Chinese astrology.
Oddly enough it was program 424,which was my father’s old taxi number.-)
It’s at the 14 minute mark,if you don’t want to wade through the whole podcast.

We also have a rotary phone, Debra. It’s hanging on our kitchen wall. Since all the other phones in the house require power (portable phones in every room, even the bathrooms), we wanted a dedicated separate telephone that won’t go out if and when the power is off, if the phone lines are up. There’s something I’ve been wanting to mention on the blog but keep forgetting…..I’m of the educated opinion that an abduction is not a “one time deal”. I have good reasons to have the conviction that a person who is abducted is abducted periodically throughout life, although often not remembered. And, something I HAVE mentioned in the past…..it seems that abductions can run in families thru the generations. My Dad was an abductee, I am an abductee, and my youngest son is an abductee. Dad was born in 1916 and died in 1959, so of course there was precious little literature on the subject available until much later, and my son doesn’t read UFO-related material. On the side of humor, (sort of!), the very few times I’ve said the words “I am an abductee!”, I feel as if I’m standing in front of a group like the ones we see on TV in AA and other 12-Step programs, where a person tells the group, “My name is *********, and I am an abductee.” And the group responds, “Hello, *******.” I’ve never been in a 12-Step program, but maybe we need one for abductees!!! 😉

  3. The book cover is kind of creepy. Not sure I’d want that laying around my house. Grays give me the major creeps.

Great job on the Coast to Coast AM. So glad it was posted to YouTube, because I got the night wrong and missed it. I was so excited that someone I “know” (through this online community, anyway) is the featured guest on Coast to Coast AM. Hope you will be more frequent guests, despite the early morning airtime!

I guess the question I have is, who set this up? Did Coast to Coast AM contact you or did you contact them?

    • Rob and Trish says:

We set it up. Got the producer’s name and sent her a flyer about the book. The 2-5 time slot (eastern time) leaves you sleep deprived, but it’s well worth it!

  4. Tom Hackney says:

What did you think of my 3-part documentary? I’m assuming you watched it since my hit counter increased by 3. I got almost 4000 hits from my interview with George Noori. After a few weeks, the counter registered 0 hits, which is about normal, until your (presumed) 3 visits.

For me the term synchronicity misses the mark a bit. The terms assume acausality, you see, whereas the events I document are posited to be causally related. This is to say, sometimes they are not just “one (or more) of those things.”

  5. Angela says:

Loved your show on Coast! So grateful to have another reference to conclude mostly for myself and then discern an appropriate way to awaken more to a reality of equality and peace among all.

  6. Momwithwings says:

I will listen to it tomorrow. I am so excited for your new book!!!
    Congratulations!!!

    • Rob and Trish says:

sorry about the delay in getting these comments posted. The blog is relaly lagging in terms of sending notifications to email that comments are waiting!

  7. mathaddict2233 says:

Just as an aside to everyone….we are all far too dependent upon our electronics. The world is in a fragile condition. Look what happened during the Super Bowl. The power went off for 34 minutes, and as yet there is no explanation from either the power compnay ther eor the Bowl folks. So, my suggestion: everyone, go to Walmart or Target or EBay or whever, and purchase a radio that is both electrical and battery operated. There will be a time when that piece of equipment will be needed, and we’ll all be glad we have them. Since we live in the hurricane-prone zone, we have a weather-band radio. But I also have a portable combination AM-FM radio/CD/tape player that can be plugged into the wall or run on several “D” batteries. I urge everyone to get a radio while they are still on the market. You won’t be sorry. They aren’t expensive, and they may be priceless when they become necessary! This isn’t the voice of doom. Just of caution!!!!!!

    • Debra Page says:

      I agree with Connie.
The only thing I would add is a rotary phone. We had a massive blackout here in Southern Cali (2011) that included Mexico and parts of AZ. All power systems were down for more than a day. Cell phones did not work either. I had an old rotary phone that I used to call a friend on the East coast to get news about what was happening. Everything came to a halt. We never received the answer on the cause, either.

  8. lauren raine says:

looks like my comment didn’t get through, but wishing you every success again!

  9. mathaddict2233 says:

OK. So now I have a clue. Tampering going on.

  10. mathaddict2233 says:

I’m attempting one more time to see if my comments make it thru. Some do, some don’t. I have no clue why. Am being innocuous this time.

  11. Cody Joe White says:

I was listening to Coast to Coast AM and sitting on the edge of my semi truck’s seat all during your great time with host George Noory. He and I have chatted a few times on the air. Rob has excited millions of Indiana Jones fans worldwide, and me! Many thanks!

I have yet to tell this on Coast’s Open Lines, but I hope to some dark night.

Was this a strange coincidence? Or was this a Carl Gustav Jung synchronicity? Or what would you call this one?

Several years back I was chatting live with “froggy” on The Cambridge Paranormal Research Society’s dusty forum called ParaTalk in the UK. We were discussing Carl Jung and his synchronicity word with the Wallflowers’ song “One Headlight” that won two Grammy Awards over here in 1998. Their song came out in 1996.

I hurriedly left for work and after driving eight miles to Indiana’s Interstate 64 interchange. A large blue day cab semi truck and trailer turned North towards me from a fuel station. On top of the tall air dam was the name J U N G and it had one working headlight!

    “Well, hello Carl!”

    MK Cody in Indiana

    • Rob and Trish says:

MK – that’s a synchro! Rob has experience that before with license plates and also with words across the sides of trucks. Very cool.

      • Cody Joe White says:

Yest Trish it’s was a chiller and the moment was caught time wise and just mere seconds either way and no dice. Woo! Woo! My website not linked is my very “Big Bump in the Night” story. For the third time in five years it’s off line. If it comes back up you will get to hear SCANIA Hit! via A.I. Robot in the UK. I sold my 08 license plate too cheaply on e-bay: 8666! I have had some chiller syncs with truck/trailer lettering like I see Rob has experienced. I really like all of what you two do for us and it puts me in mind of SQuire Rushnell’s little books on God winks. This site will be a concerned study for us all! Thanks and this is a neat place! Cody

    • Dale Dassel says:

      >>Rob has excited millions of Indiana Jones fans worldwide, and me! Many thanks!

I’ll second that! Rob is the King of Indy novels! 🙂

      • Cody Joe White says:

Yes sir Dale, and when Coast’s host George Noory said that Rob had written the Indiana Jones novels, I got a chill! We hope a whole Coast show brings Rob and Trish on again soon! Along with Harrison Ford! He piloted and owned his own UFO!

Now I must go get some sleep for the Coal Glow Truckin’ tonight. The CG is the amber night lights at the SW Indiana Toyota plant. I penned it’s nickname and told that to the coal miners over East a few miles. They loved it!

        • Dale Dassel says:

Technically Harrison’s ship isn’t a UFO since we all know that it’s a Corellian YT-1300 light freighter. That’s common knowledge! 🙂

          • Cody Joe White says:

You are very right. It is known and identified since the late great seventies! In closing I think the Star People rid themselves of war-like traits for millenia in the past.

  12. Congratulations! No way could I stay up to listen to your radio interview. Any chance of it being available for a replay?

    • Rob and Trish says:

It was definitely a challenging time slot for us. I can’t recall the last time I was drinking coffee at 2 a.m. and beyond. But we stayed awake and hopefully so did our listeners. George Noory commented that the show went by really fast. You can stream it from the Coast to Coast website. It will be archived.

  13. Stephen Long says:

I was listening tonight on the way home from work & was struck with awe about your telling of the lady who had the encounter in Warner Robbins GA. I have a very good friend who said that back in the ’70s had a UFO encounter with her husband on their farm in Beauregard AL. But, later , much later , she was on her way to Warner Robbins to pick up her husband at the base. It was at night & she was going down this long road & was running out of gas. Luckily she found a service station & filled up. She told her husband about the gas station & he said “honey, there is no gas station on this road” only one way in & one way out. Sure enough she didn’t see any gas station on the way out.
We are from East Alabama area, Lee county to be specific. I and my family have had our own UFO encounter when I was about 6 or 7 with my parents & my 2 little brothers.
    Very interesting show.
    Stephen Long

    • Rob and Trish says:

Hi Stephen – I hope Connie comments on your experience. We would love to hear more about it.

    • Rob and Trish says:

Stephen – connie wasn’t able to post her comment for some reason, so she sent it through email. Here it is:
I do want to respond to Stephen Long in Alabama. Would love to converse with him and his friend who had the experience regarding the convenience store near WR AFB, if Stephen might be inclined to give his email address to Trish and Rob or get mine from them? Stephen, I was raised in Montgomery, Alabama, and my parents built our home in a location that was between Maxwell AFB and Gunter Field, altho my Dad wasn’t in the military. Walking to school every morning, I passed the guard gates. (My school played Lee County school in football!) Concerning the convenience store…..one of my oldest and dearest friends is a retired Marine Special Forces Captain who served in combat in Viet Nam. He is my closest confidante, and when I confided the experience on WR to him, he told me that no base has convenience stores on them, just as your friend’s husband told her! I assume that perhaps I may have been placed in a hypnogogic state and that was an “implanted memory”, used to get my son and me and our automobile off the base in a “normal” fashion….that is, through a guard gate, because we did indeed follow that clerk’s directions and left the base thru a guard gate altho we hadn’t entered thru one. Have no clue HOW we got onto that tarmac, but we certainly were there., It wasn’t a dream or a concocted story. It happened.

Since then, when we visit family in N. GA, we go up thru the country long before reaching I-75. I will never willingly go on I-75 again. Obviously, any time I attempt to write anything on this subject on the blog, it is being blocked and erased, so maybe this email to you will go thru. I do hope to hear from Stephen Long, if he’s agreeable.

  14. Albertarocks says:

Coast to Coast A.M. is even available in Canada. Yay!

I’ll hear you starting at 2 a.m. so be sure to say “Hi” to me. lol

    Love from Canada,
    Dan

  15. Darren B says:

Unfortunately for me it’s our grocery shopping night and I’ll probably only get to hear the first hour,if that.
Congratulations on the launch of your book and I hope it sells like hot cakes.

Oddly also today on the subject of alien books, the lead singer of “The Troggs”
Reg Presley who wrote a book called “Wild Things They Don’t Tell Us”
    https://brizdazz.blogspot.com.au/2013/02/troggs-lead-singer-reg-presley-dies.html
which includes discussions of crop circles, UFOs, Egyptology, alchemy, religion, evolution and creationism, among other subjects has passed away today.
The Troggs are probably most famous for the song “Wild Thing”.

  16. Debra Page says:

    Congratulations, Trish and Rob!
My hubby & I are going to be listening as well.

  17. Nancy says:

Best of luck tonight! I may have to catch it tomorrow as a Coast to Coast insider as I have no idea where to find a radio! (Staying with my daughter in Portland.) The only radio I know of is in the car. We really are dependent on our computers.

  18. gypsy says:

many many congratulations on your book and this interview! and many thanks from all of us for your dedication to a better understanding of the world around us – and all those other worlds!

  19. Charles says:

I will take a nap early this evening so that I get in shape for listening later tonight…
    I wouldn’t want to miss it…

  20. mathaddict2233 says:

My radio is set up and on the right station. I phoned our local station this morning to make sure they’re airing the program, and yes, it will be on from 2-5. I’M excited!!!!!
