Ther are some musicians, artists, writers, who typify an era. Joni Mitchell is such a musician. I read tonight that she’s 71 and is in the hospital.
Here she is, singing one of the great folk tunes of the late 60s and early 70s.
Here’s an update on her condition.
She is an amazing artist.
Her disease is very strange. I once read a theory that suggested it might come from chem-trails.
No telling about its source. I suspect many new strange diseases may crop up in coming years as climate change really takes hold.
You’re right she symbolised an era – always liked this song – and her.
I have always loved Joni, and I’m off to see how she’s doing. 🙂
My old man was a “Big Yellow Taxi” driver and when we were kids he would play this single of Joni’s to us kids and point out the obvious connections between the song and his profession.
I went down to see the “Counting Crows” last Thursday play the Byron Bay Bluesfest hoping they would play this song that they had a hit with as a cover version of Joni’s song a few years back, but they didn’t sing it. 🙁
But I did get their autographs on the CDs I bought of theirs
(one having the Big Yellow Taxi song on it)
so it wasn’t a total loss, and if I hadn’t of gone down to see them, then I would never have seen and heard Hozier’s mind-blowing performance.
So synch doesn’t deliver everything you want, but it does seem to deliver you to everything you need to see,or do,in a round about way.
I wrote about that day here –

With photos of the “Counting Crows”,”Hozier” and the weird synchy day I had.
How right you are, about what synchros do!
Actually the photos of Hozier aren’t in that post.
There is another post I’m working on that is not up yet.
My bad.
