Synchronicity in Wonderland

I had just returned from a trip to Minneapolis, where I visited an old friend, nicknamed Rabbit, when this e-mail arrived. The day it arrived, a John Mayer tune, Your Body is a Wonderland, was rattling around in my head. So I was intrigued with the e-mail about rabbit symbols and Wonderland. – Rob

My name is Eugene Beaty I was born the Year Of The Rabbit 1951, the same year Alice and Wonderland was made by Walt Disney, also the year synchronicity was defined by Carl Jung. It was also the year that the movie, Harvey, starring Jimmy Stewart, was released. It’s of course about a man who had an invisible Rabbit as a friend.

My rabbit synchronicities began in 1963, again The Year Of The Rabbit, also the same year John Kennedy died and all the coincidences between him and Abraham Lincoln became widely known.

My synchronicities illustrate how Father Time has written me into the Rabbit Passion Play of life! It’s all on my web site called SynchronicityInWonderland.

Jethro Tull wrote an appropriate song called Skating Away On A Thin Ice To a New Day. As he sang these lyrics at concerts in the ’70s, a human dressed rabbit ran around on stage.

Looking for a sign
That the universal mind (!) has written you into the passion play.

Skating away on the thin ice of the new day.

And as you cross the circle line, the ice-wall creaks behind —
You’re a Rabbit on the run.
And the silver splinters fly in the corner of your eye —
Shining in the setting sun.

Well, do you ever get the feeling that the story’s

Too damn real and in the present tense?
Or that everybody’s on the stage, and it seems like
Youre the only person sitting in the audience?

Skating away on the thin ice of the new day.

In Copley, Ohio, where I live, there’s a restaurant called the Bunny, which has a big tall rabbit sign out front. That was built in 1959, the year I moved to Copley. The place is now called Charlies which is the same name of the place where Elwood P Dowd went to have a drink and hang out with Harvey, the rabbit.

Has anyone seen the movie The Last Mimzy? It's about a brother and sister that find a Hexagonal shaped box that has a Rabbit called Mimzy inside. This Rabbit is from the future and has come back to the past to collect DNA to save the people in the future. The Rabbit is the Rabbit from Alice In Wonderland. Just another example of the Rabbit From Alice In Wonderland and Time Travel.

Aleksander – interesting link. Thanks for including it!

One of the esoteric meanings of rabbit is fertility – either literally or metaphorically, as in creativity.

Just yesterday I was rewriting a chapter of my WIP where the heroine and her sidekick are talking about Wonderland – and who may be the Queen of Hearts – but instead focused on finding the Cheshire Cat. 🙂 Not easy under a full moon.

Let's not overlook that that rabbit was all about "time".

Several of my work colleagues claim that if you wake up on the first of the month and your first words spoken are: “Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit” that it supposed to help bring good luck. The problem is that we all keep forgetting, which results in our second words of the month being, “Doh!”

Two years ago, I witnessed five or six rabbits quickly following each other in a progressive fairy dance-like circle across the full breadth of my next-door neighbor’s front yard. Naturally, they were spinning in an anti-clockwise fashion. They were chasing each others cottontails so fast that I could not determine if there were five or six rabbits. I mentioned this to the mother of the house, who replied that they are aware of the rabbits and their dances and that her son has christened them with personal names! This left me so stunned that I forgot to ask whether there were five or six rabbits.

LOL – I read your post about Rabbits and didn't have a comment. Then I went to my usual check of The New York Times on line and what did I see in the Science Section but an articled called "Even Rabbit Droppings Count in Nuclear Clean up."

"It's a poor memory that only works backwards." – Alice in Wonderland (White Queen)

There is a rabbit in the movie Donnie Darko. It's about a phenomenon similar to synchronicity – retrocausality. Retrocausality can sometimes look even more strange than synchronicity (time (life story) moving in both directions). It reminds me to individuation (Jung) and anticipation (Robert Rosen).
