Full Moon in Virgo

Each month, there are two lunar events worth noting in astrology– new moons and full moons. New moons – next one is in Pisces on March 17 – are times when new opportunities manifest themselves. Doors open. New chapters begin. New energy is born.

Full moons – today – generally mean harvest and also illuminate parts of our lives we don’t usually see – good parts, not so good parts, the moon doesn’t care. Sometimes people go a little nuts on full moons, which is why emergency rooms are generally so busy on these nights. But when a full moon spells harvest, there’s usually positive news of some kind.

So tonight, March 1, at 7:51 p.m. eastern, there will be a full moon in earth sign Virgo. As a sign, Virgo is a master of details with perfectionist tendencies, often sees nuances that others miss, can be very self-critical and overly analytical. But the sign also possesses such precision that when these qualities are applies to an artistic/creative venture, the results can be astonishing.

These qualities also make it easier to manifest your desires during a full moon in Virgo. Especially during this one. It forms a beneficial angle – trine, 120 degrees- to Saturn in Capricorn. Saturn doesn’t have the greatest reputation in astrology, but when you consider that it rules the physical world, we wouldn’t be here without it. It also rules foundations, tangible reality, responsibility, discipline, endurance. And, it helps to solidify your dreams. So, March 1 is a great for manifestation! Just be very clear in your own mind, within your owns emotions, what you hope to create.

This full moon is also opposed to Neptune in Pisces, so there can be emotional confusion or lack of information in a relationship or surrounding an event. So step out into nature with some good music on your phone and start walking! If the weather where you live isn’t conducive to being outside, then find a spot inside where you can curl up. Or go to a museum, a movie, get lost in a good book.

This full moon should be especially good for anyone with a Virgo sun, moon, or rising, and for Capricorns, Tauruses, and the water signs… possible exception there is Pisces. You air and fire signs – the rest of the zodiac – have Virgo somewhere in your charts. If you don’t have a birth chart, you can get one free here.

Take note of where Virgo – falls in your chart. The house where you find it will be impacted by this full moon.

To A…Please pardon this old woman for commenting on your dilemma, but think it might help a bit. Hope so. My hubby and I have been married for 54 years, and have three adult sons, all in their late forties with families of their own. Hubby and I now share the ’empty nest’ with our precious canine companion, Storm. The boys departed one by one, until none of them were still living with Mom and Dad. They were ‘late-bloomers’, living with us into their twenties. It was an adjustment for us. However, as time passed, hubby and I once again learned what it means to be a couple and enjoy the togetherness we shared with each other before the arrival of the kids. It’s a “circle of life”, I think, to marry, be together for awhile prior to the births of babies, then the focus by necessity and great love is on the entire family.

Eventually, the children become adults, meet their own beloveds, and it’s time for the children to establish a more independent life of THEIR own. The important thing, A, is that the boys and their families are still very much in our lives. We are close-knit, and frequently have wonderful get-togethers. Although leaving the ‘nest’ with your hubby (to begin building a life with him beyond that great home with Mom and Dad), will be a change for them, and they will certainly miss your physical presence, there will be opportunities for THEM to ultimately return to the condition of being a ‘couple’ again while continuing to maintain a beautiful close relationship with YOU and your husband even though you no longer live with them. Please don’t feel guilty. It’s a ‘win’win’ situation for all, even though it may not at first seem that way.

You are blessed by having parents who love you dearly. Embrace that, and pay it forward to your own little family as it grows. Again, I apologize for interfering, but feel your anxiety. Hope this might help. One final remark….if you live nearby, think about how utterly thrilled your Dad and Mom will be in the future, whenever that may happen, when grandchildren enter. Have you seen the bumper sticker that says, “If I’d known grandchildren were so much fun, I’d have had them FIRST!” On that happy note, I’ll hush.

I’m having problems accessing the blog. My first attempt brought up the one in February about why we shouldn’t watch the news. Tried again, this one came up. Is there another one after this?? Thanks!

    Got it! Thanks so much!

I have a Virgo moon and can feel this energy, Trish! Thanks for letting me know where it’s coming from. I just finished a lovely eight-mile hike with my friends and am now going to relax with a glass of red wine. 🙂

Tried in vain to send via email. My d…computer is blitzing on me. Didn’t want to bore everyone here with my birth data, but can’t send email. Comes in, but won’t go out. Thanks for assistance re Astro!

Not sure. Will check. And with Cancer Rising in House One, that puts Virgo in my House Three, I think, not House Two . Must see.

    Hi MacGregors.
I have Capricon Sun, Cancer Rising and Moon, Virgo is in House 2? These days I’m
unwillingly focused on health issues that have become….challenging. I hope this Full Moon and its adjoining planetary positions might be helpful . Thanks for the info on this Full Moon. Also, NASA is scheduled to launch another rocket at today. Skies are blue, no clouds, no wind. We are able to watch the launches from here. I do have a sense that these launches have at least SOME direct impact on the earthquake scenarios. They create immense power against the tectonic plates when they lift off. We’re 90 miles from the Cape, but always feel the Earth beneath us shudder at lift-off. Wonder if this Full Moon might have an affect on the rocket launch.

What degree is your virgo moon, CJ? The degree for this moon is 26

Interesting thought about the launch power

I have it in my 4th house where my SN sits in Virgo! No wonder I am feeling so restless to move out of my parents house and get my own. (I love my parents, I don’t want to upset them by moving out with my husband) However my parents believe they are helping us by making us stay at theirs. I know that it is good for all of us to be together, as life is really about creating memories together. But I have many dreams that I want to fulfill, I need emotional independence to fulfil them. I can’t focus on my dreams while I am with my parents because I have to reserve a considerable time for them and also my mind is not at rest. It is shouting for its own space and own rules! Is this my Saturn return or anything to do with my chart, I wonder!

    • Rob and Trish says:

A – the first saturn return often results in establishing something for yourself – a move, career, family, something pivotal. YOur comfort zone is that node in the 4th house and I suspect this new moon in Pisces is going to bring the opportunity to move without upsetting your parents. It will fall in your 11th house of wishes and dreams! Since you’re feeling such internal pressure, it seems to indicate that emotionally, you’re ready to make to make this move. Start planning, look around for a place, then move on or right after that new moon in March – but before Mercury turns retrograde on March 22. We once moved during a merc retro and it was a challenge from start to finish!

      • A says:

Thank you. It is really difficult for me as I don’t want to upset or hurt my parents in the process. We have debt financed a flat next to my parents and it will not be delivered until June 2018. So we’ll wait until after that. What is more worrisome for me is that it’s my fathers second Saturn return so we are in this together. His retirement is coming up, I just don’t wanna make them feel alone. I wanna be their for them but need my own space too. I will work it out. Thank you for being there with me through all of this!

        • Rob and Trish says:

A next door flat sounds ideal! You have your space but are close enough to them to still be part of a larger group. When the move date approaches, run some dates past me. I’ll look for the most auspicious ones!
