A Mercury Retrograde Story

Sometimes when I talk about Mercury retrograde, people roll their eyes and laugh. My response is that you laugh at your own peril. This last  Mercury retro started on February 16 and ended on March 9, yesterday. Here’s a story that typifies how quickly events can go south during a retro. It’s from a friend on IG:

Trish –

I had to share this with you. I read your blog piece “Mercury Retro Alert!” the day it came out. I obviously forgot about it as I decided to leave my mobile carrier I’d been with for 10 years (AT&T) and switch us (4 iPhones) over to Xfinity mobile for some cost savings this past Saturday. It was a two hour process on Saturday but all appeared well. On Sunday my wife Penny said she couldn’t call or text with hers so I rushed over to Xfinity a half hour before close to get our problem corrected. They said it was a porting issue and her phone hadn’t come over from AT&T but we had a bigger problem. Due to an error, our phones were attached to a stranger’s account and they all had to be cut off. After two hours on Sunday (long after they closed) they asked me to come back Monday.

I took my wife and daughter’s phones with me to work on Monday and my son met me in the afternoon at my office (he lives 30 miles away). We went to Xfinity, had multiple people helping us, we were there for nearly three hours but they couldn’t get the problem resolved and asked me to return on Tuesday…

I returned Tuesday with all the phones and the boxes they came in. After two more hours, they FINALLY got it right and we all have new working phones.

Oh, and this morning my car wouldn’t start. On the third try I got it to stay on and limped to my repair shop. Luckily they had a loaner and I made it to work. I’ll have a $600 bill waiting for me in a few hours. March 9th can’t come soon enough…
