David Strabala directed the award-winning feature documentary, “What Is Synchronicity?” The seed for the film came from a 15-year-old boy in a group home where David served as a therapist. They were discussing how to be in the right place at the right time. The boy concluded, “That was cool, you ought to do a book about that!” David couldn’t ignore the suggestion, and several synchronicities later the book idea changed into a film project.

His 2014 film features a young man, called the “Uncertainty Hero,” who provides a foil for the material through tips on synchronicity.

Trish, I bought that film. It was a beautiful piece of work, full of quotable stuff. There’s no other way to talk about synchronicity. It’s not something that can be learned but it’s fully present when you hear from people who have jumped into it and walked around in it. You simply have to watch it more than once to do the same. Or not the same.

That was a very interesting podcast episode Trish and I liked your umbrella comment about Jung’s and Radin’s views on meaningful coincidence.
I tend to side with Radin on that one.
I haven’t watched David’s movie yet, but I’m interested to see what future projects of his come to fruition.
I wrote a post using a lot of his clips from his You Tube channel about synchronicity –

I like the “elephant in the room” analogy when people tell each other what they think “synchronicity” is all about (I’m just as blindfolded as anyone in the room is), but what I find more fascinating than synchronicity is the subject of “snychromysticism” and the “elephant in the room” , like when a bunch of us “sync-heads” worked on Joe Alexander’s synchromystic “Did BTTF Predict 9/11” You Tube with him, which went viral to our amazement –

I know Joseph Gordon-Levitt has seen it and he thinks it is amusing, so I would imagine that Robert Zemeckis has seen it and likes it too … or it wouldn’t be up on You Tube still.

Darren, your link was eerie. Gave me chills. I saw Back to the Future when it came out. I remember thinking that it was a little young for me and didn’t catch the sequels, but the second of those was the one to watch. You know that 911 is our emergency dial in the states?

      • Darren B says:

I’m all Back to the Future-d out after shifting through those three movies while giving Joe my input for that You Tube.
I hadn’t seen ‘The Walk’ over here in Australia when we were working on that You Tube, because the movie came out a few months later over here in Australia for some reason.
‘The Walk’ was a great movie I thought, when I did finally see it on the big screen.
I was never a big BTTF fan before working on that You Tube with Joe and the rest of the gang of “sync-heads”.
Still not really a fan, but the first one I liked the best.
I’m more into Bob’s other movies, like ‘Forrest Gump” and ‘The Walk’.
Our emergency phone number is 000, like in nothing to see here … move along people 🙂

          Oops!
That should have been “sifting” through those three movies in that comment above, like in sifting flour, not “shifting”.

I knew what you meant. I saw The Walk. There was also an extremely wonderful documentary film that used footage from the actual event – Man On Wire, came out in 2008. It featured the high wire artist himself, Philippe Pettet. Very suspenseful.
