Recently, I had some dealings with a man over a writing project. After some discussion both on-line and on a phone call, he said he wanted to hire me to edit his book and he added that within two hours he would accept the offer I made.
It never happened and the next day, when I asked him about it, he said he was tied up with work, and would take care of it a little later. Days went by and I heard nothing from him. I assumed that after agreeing to work with me, he had been contacted by another writer through the same service and decided to go with him. Fine, that’s business, but say something.
Don’t lie and don’t go silent. Just tell the truth and move on. Only later, when I happened to come across his name, did I stop and notice the synchronicity that had been in plain sight. He’s Ben Lyon. He’s been lyin’ all along!
It may seem at first that the image with this post is unrelated to the story, but think about the play on words. That’s the link.
Maybe Ben is still Lyon on the fence and hasn’t de-sided one way or the other about hiring you yet?
Keep me posted on any further developments in the Ben Lyon story 😛
And tell when this post has BEN removed. 🙂
This was Rob’s post, his experience. And the post….yeah!
Love the way you play with words, Darren.
He’s exceptional at that!
Then you should see how I play with letters and numbers and dates Cheryl –

It’s a great post and a great story! Given the lie that will inevitably be part of his ongoing speech, you can rejoice in his silence now that you’ve said your piece. He might write back and say nothing. I read posts full of nothing all the time. None of them yours.
Love the story. Rob didn’t write this to him. Probably best. Let me find it online.
