Dance of the 3 Muses

Here’s a poem about synchronicity written by Elizabeth Crawford. Do we have other poets in sync here?
***

Do this dance with synchronicity,
back and forth across the floor,
but there is always more
and sometimes I’m not quite ready.

There are those days when she
is compliant, sweet, gives me time
to find my feet and move with her.
The flow is smooth, seemingly
seamless, and she graces me
with a smiling face that is luminous
and radiant.

Even so, there are those other times
when she gives me that look,
hands on hips, a jiggling foot,
and hates it when I hesitate.
Seems to think I shoud leap
to meet her every move,
forgets my age, length of the room
I must cross to do this do-see-doe
we do so well.

But, at first flicker of recognition,
she grins, begins to whisper words
of that Lee Ann Womack song
about choices and chance, how
she hopes I will get up and dance,
and I always do.

I colored the illustration, the designer is Richard Stoker and you can find many more of his designs at the New Coloring Book Co. online. I really like his stuff.

And she did the illustration, too. Synchronicity isn’t just magical, it seems to stimulate our creativity generally.

  3. Joyce says:

Great, a poem. It’s perfect for the occasion. As a fellow poet, I wish I had thought to write a poem.

    Hi Hazel,
Sorry about the name mix up. Thanks for visiting and if you’ve got a good synchronicity you’d like to share, just e-mail us at the address above. – Rob

    Hi Rob,

Thanks so much for visiting my site, The Clever Pup. I can see why you’d think my name is Joan but my name is Hazel. Joan’s my Mum and I’ve moved her book reviews a little further down my page.

I’ve always had meaninful coincidences and since I’ve been blogging I run into these coincidences even more often. Blogging is a real example of one thing leads to another, and another etc. I feel we are sort of weird marionettes; a string get’s pulled somewhere and someone else get tweaked at the same time.

My 15-year old son will be blown away when I tell him the author of the Crystal Skull was in touch. He’s a huge devotee of the Lucas canon. Sometimes I feel like Dr. Spalko. “I must know it all”

See you in the blogosphere, I’ve favourited you.

    Thanks, Elizabeth!

Thanks for putting up the poem. I recommended your site on Intuitive Paths this morning as well. I love it when things work out like this.
