We ran into Bruce Gernan recently, the pilot with whom Rob co-authored The Fog, the story of a time travel experience Bruce had some years ago in the Bermuda Triangle. Every time we see Bruce, the conversation is invariably intriguing. This time, he related a dream he’d had recently.
His friend, Kathy Doore, had loaned him an ancient, sacred stone from Markawasi, Peru and told him to place it under his pillow to induce dreams. The symbol at the top of the post is what Bruce saw in the dream and we would love all feedback and insights into what the symbol might mean. Here’s Bruce’s dream:

My friend Kathy Doore loaned me a strange stone she said was enchanted and sacred.      It was carved by someone from Peru many thousands of years ago and it had a strange looking bird with a lizard’s tail on it. She told me to put it under my pillow when I go to sleep and I would dream something special. I tried it and absolutely nothing special happened. I had the same type of boring and senseless dreams I usually have.
Three days later I gave the stone back to Kathy and just before I woke up the next morning, I had an incredible dream. It was about a space ship. I have never dreamed about UFO’s.
We were at a large gathering of tens of thousands of people. It might have been an air show like the one every year at Lakeland Florida. It was at night and the show was just ending when this incredible event took place. Out of nowhere, a gigantic space ship appeared directly overhead and hovered about 500 feet above us. It was huge- about 500 feet long and 250 feet wide. It was similar in shape to the famous Star Trek space ship except it was more streamlined and integrated. The entire ship was glowing a yellowish orange color.
The crowd was gasping and people were mumbling what it could be. It was obviously a UFO. After hovering for a few minutes it slowly started to move, then began some incredible maneuvers. It made square turns with no radius and went up and down with the same precision. It moved faster and faster until it became difficult to follow and looked almost like a blur. This went on for almost ten minutes and everyone was spellbound.
Finally it slowly climbed up to about 2000 feet and hovered. Then it slowly disintegrated and the symbol appeared. It was about 600 feet square, glowed bright orange and lit up everything – the sky, the ground. Dangling below it were six flying saucers of different shapes shapes that were lit up from the symbol above them. Then the symbol disappeared and the show was over.
When I awoke I was excited to realize I may have seen a future event that was the first official contact with extraterrestrials and our world.

Here’s Kathy Doore’s response to Bruce’s dream:
That strange stone you placed under your pillow (instead of meditating with), was a rare, authentic “Ica Stone” from the private collection of Dr. Javier Cabrera. It was gifted to me by the doctor himself a few week before he succumbed to cancer.
I’d visited him at his hacienda home on several occasions in the city of Ica, Peru, where he lived, worked, and housed his massive (11,000+), collection of ancient engraved stones. This was the last visit we would have together before he passed over on December 30, 2001.

From Kathy’s website about Markawasi:
We sent the symbol to several people who gave their interpretations, so we’ll follow up with a post on what this symbol may mean.
Gypsy drew a diagram of a craft/object she saw last year which seems similar – but no face!
Tell Kathy that you were responsible for a sale of her book and DVD through this post, because I just ordered a copy of each after visiting her site, from the above link.
I’m looking forward to receiving them. They look very interesting to say the least.
I too saw a face immediately, actually 4.
It reminded me of masks that some tribes wear during ceremonious dances. I cannot remember which tribes.
I also felt that I “recognized” this mask, not just remembered it.
Very interesting.
Like my cousin Gypsy, my initial impression was 1) a face, then instantly 2) I’ve seen this before. Somewhere. In some context. It is very familiar to me. As I emailed to T & R about this dream and diagram, I mentioned to them that I do not sense it was a dream at all, but was rather was a type of direct, physical contact: either a journey into a parallel dimension, or possibly a genuine UFO encounter. The symbol has components of Sacred Geometry in it, but also many likenesses to UFO sightings that come from Strieber and Hopkins and Mack and other credible researchers and/or witnesses. My own personal opinion is that he was a witness in an encounter that SEEMED to be a dream. Like Gypsy yet again, I am as always struck by the ‘numbers’ and the manner in which they present themselves. I have some photos in several metaphysical texts that are strikingly similar to this symbol, and for that reason sense it is a powerful, magickal talisman that enabled him to journey (out or in the body) to another space. Possibly Future Memory; possibly Past Memory; possibly Time Traveling to Somewhere Else. The similarities to Gypsy’s sighting are pretty mind-boggling and offer much fodder for consideration. Our friend, Dr. Ron DeVasto, who guides annual tours to the sacred sites in Peru, has looked at it and said it initially reminds him of an ancient Inca shaman “mask”. Trish and Rob know Ron. He’s visited Peru so often and has many genuine shamans among his friends there, so he’s not without knowledge of these matters. Whatever, it’s provocative and deserving of study.
Thanks, fortune!
I had a dream similar to the ones described above but it has been several years ago. In that dream I saw a large square object in the sky that kept changing colors like a kalidescope. It was very startlimg and the memory of the dream has stayed with me all these years. I wasn’t frightened by the object, only intriqued and wondered what it could mean.
Thanks for your comment, G. Square? Intriguing.
this morning when i first came by, my very first immediate response – almost visceral – was that i have seen this before – literally – and i couldn’t place it but was certain that i had – now, several hours later, i know i have – and i know from where – it reminds me of the huge object that hovered over my house about a year ago – remember it? the one that was so low and so large? where i hadn’t slept with a camera under my pillow so i could take a photo of it? [pun intended] – well, the exterior outline in this diagram is very close to that of the object i saw –
anyway, bruce’s object/diagram contains 8 sets of 4 same-shaped shapes – 32=5 –
[the diagram i drew of what i saw contains 3 sets of 6 each same-shaped shapes – for a total of 18 shapes = 18=9] – what strikes me is that both diagrams contain a series of same-shaped shapes within a similar exterior outline – again, just a me thing i found interesting
now, the other thing about bruce’s diagram is that i, like mike, also saw a face upon my initial looking at it – you know, the suggestion of a face – my immediate response to the shapes themselves was that of water [where lauren sees snakes] – and i can see the snake, as well, now that lauren has mentioned it – but for me, initially i thought of water shapes as well as the 4 directions – i do like her [lauren’s] take very much –
very neat post! thanks for sharing bruce’s dream!
Didn’t you do a drawing for that??
yep – just re-sent it to you via em – and i was just noticing the shapes of the 6 interior shapes on my drawing and how they are similar to those of bruce’s – well, to me, anyway – get goosebumps looking at the two of them together – i printed out bruce’s and mine and put them beside each other –
I’ll put it up now at the end of the post.
I know it’s common to attribute faces to virtually anything but when I looked at the symbol, before I had read the post, I immediately thought of the devil – sorry about that!
Yikes!
maybe because i’ve spent much time studying “Spider Woman’s Cross” in native American art, as well as being a pagan and working with “the four directions”, I immediately thought of this universal symbol of balance. I also think of the continual appearance, I’ve noticed, of the number 44 in the past few years – for example, the tv show “the 4400”, etc. Again, I personally see it as a symbol of the need for balance, and I know that it is also a symbol of completion. This sequence of “4” in pattern is repeated throughout the design, including what look to me like 4 “snakes”. And, good Pagan Goddess type that I am, the snake is universally associated with the Earth, and the Earth Mother, at least in many, many symbol systems.
Great insight, Lauren. Thanks!
This is an extremely interesting occurrence that has just happened and I’m not sure yet what significance it may convey. Although it was pretty late (1:30 am) and I was ready to get some sleep last night, I decided at the last minute to continue reading your latest book on synchronicity which I had put down a few days ago and hadn’t had a chance to continue doing so. The chapter I read last night was the eighth chapter, precisely where you mention and elaborate on Markawasi and Kathy Doore. Before then, I had never heard about Markawasi although I’m familiar with many other places of mystical/spiritual significance around the world. Due to this I became very intrigued by this particular segment of your book. Since you mention your blog so much I decided to finally take a look at it this morning. When I clicked on today’s post, it had to do with Markawasi and Kathy Doore!!! I looked through several other blog posts to see if Markawasi was mentioned frequently but I found nothing of the sort from those I checked. I wonder if you could help me decipher what this might mean.
Rene, maybe Markawasi is a destination in your future. In fact, Kathy Doore is organizing a trip there for October. She also has published a book on the msterious site called Peru’s Inexplicable Stone Forest: Markawasi.
Thanks for your insight, Rob and Trish! It may be important to point out that I’m in the midst of starting my own home-based travel agency and have been pondering on pilgrimages/religious and spiritual travel as a possible specialty. I worked at an agency that specialized in pilgrimages and I also hold a masters degree in theology, so I was wondering if this was the path to go in order to make things work. Then again, I’m going to find out more about Kathy Doore’s upcoming trip to Markawasi in October. There may be more to this than meets the eye. Thanks again!
Rene – I think the trip is in June, early June. Just go to her website and check for the dates. Good luck!!
Rene,
Talking about pilgrimages/religious and spiritual travel, have you seen the movie “The Way”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5VZKWcgw6c
starring Martin Sheen?
It is filmed on The Camino de Santiago in Spain and is a brilliant movie.I’m not a Roman Catholic, but I would love to do this walk one day.Especially after reading Paulo Coelho’s book “The Pilgrimage “,as well.
I think home-based travel agency involving pilgrimages/religious and spiritual travel sounds like a wonderful idea,as long as you do it for the love of it and not just for money.Like they say in the movie “Field of Dreams” -build it and they will come.-)
Darren, thank you for the input! I haven’t seen the movie yet, but I’d love to, so thanks for telling me about it! As to the pilgrimage/religious and spiritual travel I’d do it because it’s one thing I’ve done well in the past and because of my background and interests, it would be the most appropriate thing to specialize in especially since I’d really love it.
Rene – we heard from kathy Doore today – a synchro, she didn’t know about our post – you should def get in touch with her and find out about the trip.
El Camino was a book by shirley maclaine, too. She walked it.
Thanks…I did contact Kathy Doore and it seems that the synchronicities keep manifesting themselves. I’m very grateful you told me about that upcoming trip. I’m also planning on getting her book as well as Shirley Maclaine’s.
Fantastic!
