THE 25TH AMENDMENT

So, trump is clearly a lunatic. How can he be removed as president?

We’ve all heard about the 25th amendment and I decided to look it up. Here it is from Cornell Law School:

Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session.

If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.

Gods in the Game

In this thought-provoking episode, Trish and Rob McGregor dive into the “sacred mysteries and magic of autism” with award-winning author Alex Marcoux. Joined by medium Shauna Kaliki and Connie (messenger for the Autist Collective and mother to Daniel, a non-speaking autist), the group discusses the profound spiritual role autistics play in humanity’s evolution. The conversation centers on Marcoux’s latest book, Gods in the Game, exploring the transition to a “New Earth” and the shift in global consciousness.

What’s Next?

Keeping track of trump’s daily horrors is exhausting and depressing. So a news piece comes up on Google and I glance at it and move on. In the evening when I’m working, the news is on, but I don’t watch it. When I hear trump’s voice, I mute the TV.

When I wrote my first couple of novels, I was single and worked during the day as a librarian in a juvenile prison facility in Vero Beach, Florida. After work, I went home and started writing. I used to  turn on the TV at night while I worked  on a novel. It was  like white noise.

Now, though, the news at night is nightmare intrusive. It’s  a blatant reminder that we have a convicted felon, grifter and pathological liar as president who has surrounded himself with sycophants as corrupt as he is.

I happened across a substack post tonight, where the author was blasting trump for this war in Iran. The comments that followed were  from maga people, praising trump for this or that and blasting the woman for her post. “Brainwashed left wing. Trump is the best prez ever.”

The brain rot runs deep. I want to think it’s ignorance, but maybe it’s just that ole rabbit hole they went down long ago.

Nigel & the Squirrel

The squirrel kept moving around the trunk, tricking him. It wanted one of the peanuts we were tossing.

The Dude at the Gym

Today at the gym, I’d just gotten off a leg machine when an older man across from me said, “You still shopping at Publix?”

“Uh, yes.”

“I’ve seen you there before. Is that where you usually shop?”

“Not the only place. Publix is expensive.” I paused. “So is gas.”

“Not for long. Trump says it’s going to come down.”

I nearly burst out laughing. “I don’t believe anything trump says. He’s a liar.”

The man looked surprised.  “What are you basing that on?”

“Oh, the last ten years.”

Again the surprise on his face.

“I’m not a trumpie,” I said, and walked away.

Here’s the synchronicity. As Rob & I were walking into the gym, we were talking about people who are still trump supporters at this point in his disastrous regime. “Are they stupid? Poorly informed? Brainwashed by Fox News?” I asked. “Or just oblivious?”

Rob shrugged. “True, brainwashed  MAGAs.”

Maybe 15 minutes after that conversation, the dude in the gym strikes up the conversation.

The Mystical Underground Talks with Dr. Adam Rizvi

Critical care physician and neurologist Dr. Adam Rizvi has been at the bedside for hundreds of deaths, bringing spiritual principles into some of the most intense moments in modern medicine. In this episode of The Mystical Underground, he joins Rob MacGregor, Trish MacGregor, and producer Jon Posey to talk about his book Love Does Not Know Death and what he has learned about the soul, fear, forgiveness, and what really matters at the end of life.

Adam shares remarkable ICU stories, including bedside synchronicities, near-death experiences, strange phenomena at the moment of death, and cases where patients seemed to know they were about to die, along with the deeply moving story of his father’s passing and after-death dream contact. He also explores how his Catholic–Muslim upbringing shaped his spiritual path, why he believes the true opposite of love is fear, and how practices like radical forgiveness and meditative imagery can transform grief, illness, and everyday living right now. If you enjoy this conversation about death, consciousness, and spiritual healing, please like, subscribe, and hit the notification bell so you never miss an episode of The Mystical Underground.

Alas Babylon!

Finally!

Mercury retrograde is over. But just look at what trump did during this retro, which started on Feb 25 and ended on March 20.

On Feb 28, he started a war with Iran. And now gas prices are shooting upward.  Before the retro started, we were paying around $2.79 for gas, and that was at the least expensive station around here. The other day, I paid $3.87, I think it was, & now that station is selling it for over four bucks a gallon.

& it’s not just gas that’s shooting for the moon – grocery prices  are right up there, too. Grapefruit, which is local to south Florida, used to cost about 50 cents for a plump beauty perfect for breakfast. Now a single grapefruit at Publix costs $2.05. In a bag of about 6 or 7, they are cheaper by a few cents, but they’re also smaller.

Eggs, which trump mentioned repeatedly during his campaign, now run between five and eight bucks a dozen, depending on what kind you  buy.

And on and on the list goes.

Now that the retro has ended, Trump is threatening to “obliterate” Iran’s power plants  if they don’t open the Strait of Hormuz by Monday, the 23rd. Like, uh, tomorrow. Tehran promises to retaliate. Trump seems to be, well, clueless about all this. No surprise.

Maybe the strangest synchronicity about the Israeli/American team work on the Iran war is that both Netanyahu and Trump are using the war to stay out of prison.

& the cost of this war – of any war -makes the cost of grapefruit  and gas seem absurd, particularly when I ran across this article online about what to do in the event of a nuclear strike.

Find a cellar is one of the first suggestions.Uh-huh, not in south Florida.

Oh well. It’s starting to sound like the novel by Frank Herbert, Alas Babylon.

…As a Kid

I would like to know what trump was like as a kid. A whining annoyance, like in this picture?

Or was he already the neighborhood bully who picked fights with other kids, then paid off someone to fight in his place, for him?

Was his hair orange back then? Was his face? Was he already fat? Did he believe all the girls in the neighborhood considered him to be oh so cool and, of course, good-looking!?

If I could time travel, my destination would be simple: a day in trump’s childhood. I suspect that the traits he exhibits so readily now existed back then: the chronic lying, the gag worthy narcissism, the bullying, the threats. Threats like: If you don’t apologize or do what I want you to do, I’ll tell my daddy and he’ll make sure your daddy loses his job and his membership at the country clubs and his participation in daily human life…

And I’d love to see how the other kids reacted to trump the lying, narcissistic, bullying kid or teenager.  Of course, if I could time travel, I would be tempted to take him elsewhere, maybe into the past, the distant history of Greece or Rome or hey, maybe into the Civil War, where bone spurs wouldn’t save him.

Everything he has done in his second term has been an unmitigated disaster, just one dangerous spectacle after another to prove that he’s – what? A strongman? Superman? The terminator? A KING?

See you at the No Kings Day protest on the 28th! The one in October drew 7 million people. My hope for this one?? 50,000,000!!
