On April 20, Trump cancelled a rally in North Carolina because of a storm.
Last t week, Trump has had to sit in a courtroom while jurors were selected for his hush money trial concerning porn star Stormy Daniels. Monday, April 22, that trial began and Trump was mandated to be in court for its duration.
The storm. And Stormy.
Something of a dark trickster, this one!

This one has been – well, like most of them. A mess.
A computer death. A compromised credit card. Hours spent trying to learn a new program to publish a book to Amazon. A lost cat who didn’t return. An increased bill for home owner’s insurance.Our governor DeSantis passing a new law about establishing a religious department in public schools. Hello? What happened to the separation betwene church and state?
BUT.
The trump trial seems to be moving in the prosecution’s favor. Trump himself looks worn out, old, his orange hair disheveled, his truth social posts the rants of a guy who is scared shitless.
Our daughter, Megan, began her trek across country to work with whales. And so far, the trip has gone well. We’re preparing to meet her in early May in Seattle and help her get settled into her summer gig in the San Juan islands off the coast of Washington state.
Our new book will go up around the time of the new moon in Taurus in early May.
So, yes, it’s been a messy Merc retro. But it has had a few benefits!

Sometimes, synchronicity makes you feel like a character in a Philip K. Dick novel, as if you’ve stumbled into an upside down, inside out world where nothing is the way it should be. Other times, synchronicity is the oddball ally you don’t want to introduce to the rest of the family but whose company you crave. And occasionally, it’s the wind whispering a secret. Always, though, there’s the general weirdness of it all, when the universe seems to be addressing you personally.
Recently, author and synchronicity expert Philip Merry, emailed a question pertinent to synchronicity. When people say ‘sign from the universe’ what do they mean by the word ‘universe?’ I think of it as the matrix of reality, the core of who we are as spiritual beings in a physical existence.
Synchronicities come in different types and sizes. Big or small, they can act as confirmation, a warning, a navigation system, and as a mirror that reflects global affairs. They can come in clusters, often within minutes or hours of each other. Some synchronicities may stretch throughout your life. Or they can be tricksters that poke fun at you and make you laugh at yourself. They may provide glimpses of the future. We often tap into them through our creativity, in our dreams, during meditation, or when we’re simply going about our lives.
Any of these can be mind-blowers, synchronicities so bizarre or in your face that you immediately stop what you’re doing and your attention snaps to what you just experienced. If the message isn’t immediately clear, you keep digging through the possibilities until you find it. These mind blowers can involve virtually anything or anyone and can occur anywhere, at any time. Sometimes, they seem quantum in nature.
I read an article recently that implied the quake in New Jersey/NY/East coast on April 5 was due to the conjunction of Uranus/Jupiter. That conjunction will be exact 2 days from now, on April 20. Right now, the two planets are three degrees apart. It was noted that the last time this conjunction occurred was in 1941.
It’s true that Uranus rules sudden, unexpected events -including earthquakes. Jupiter rules expansion and Taurus is an earth sign. But just because the 2 planets are conjunct in Taurus doesn’t necessarily mean we’re due for a big quake on 4/20.
I brought up the astrological ephemeris for 1941 and found the two planets were conjunct within a degree of each other from May 6-9 and within a degree of each other for several days on either side of those dates. I then looked up earthquakes for those dates.
Turns out the strongest quake in May 1941 was a 7.4 in the British Solomon Islands. On that days, Jupiter was at 27 degrees and 24 minutes in Taurus and Uranus was at 26 degrees and 9 minutes in Taurus . So they were less than a degree apart.
However, if we go strictly by the astrological playbook, Uranus and Jupiter will no longer be conjunct when the season begins. On May 25, Jupiter enters Gemini.

What IS true, though, is that the conjunction of these 2 planets in Taurus now, in 2024, points to sudden changes in the earth caused by a number of factors, including global warming. Researchers at Colorado State University anticipate 23 named storms for this hurricane season, which starts June 1 and ends November 30. An average season has 14 named storms.

This tree frog on the outside of my dirty office window is stalking an insect just above him. Usually, I see these guys during the hotter summer months, but today – April 10 – was warm – 88 but not too humid. We have the AC on tonight because there’s no breeze.When they appear out of season like this, I’m reminded that frogs are often a sign of good luck for me. This little guy isn’t hurt or dying. He’s simply hungry.
On March 20, when we returned from the Dominican Republic, Megan’s cat, Indy (named after Indiana Jones) got out of the house and hasn’t come back. We think something in the backyard spooked him and he jumped the back fence. Here’s Indy.
We put up lost cat fliers in the neighborhood across the street, with Peggy Adams, local shelters and vets. He was sighted several times by Dillon and his sister in the neighborhood across the street. A cat loving woman in the neighborhood lent us a no harm cage.
We put a dollop of sardines at the front of the cage, some cat food at the back. The first night, the cage caught a racoon. The second night, it caught a cat that resembled Indy. Another night, it was a kitten. Megan bought a trail camera, a complex piece of equipment that I didn’t program correctly the first couple of nights. By the 3rd night, it caught photos of rustling leaves, of a dog passing by on the nearby sidewalk, of a guy on the sidewalk.
No Indy.
People in this neighborhood have been extraordinarily kind- texting us early on about sightings, allowing us to put the cage in their yards with the camera. This evening while Rob was setting up the cage in the yard where we’ve been putting it, a woman across the street was walking her dog, so I went over to her with a lost cat poster. She already knew about Indy. She’d seen one of the fliers we put up in that neighborhood.
In recent days, no sightings. No texts. But tonight, the frog appeared. The first since Indy’s disappearance. Maybe it’s a sign, maybe it’s delusional on my part. But sometimes during Mercury retrogrades, we find what has been lost.
We’ll see.

Sullivan’s prescient-sounding words survive in the clipping of the Associated Press article . Think about it for a moment. The 1950s. That was when the rotary phone was the most advanced personal communication device in American households.
Today, April 8, there’s a solar eclipse at 19 degrees Aries. According to articles on the Internet, avid eclipse watchers are flocking to the areas where the eclipse will be fully visible.
Astrologically, solar eclipses are like double new moons. They usher in double the new opportunities . However since good ole trickster Mercury is retro in Aries until April 25, those opportunities may not show up until after it turns direct.
Or, if they do, just be sure you do not sign a contract. It’s not wise to list or sell your home, to start anything new or to travel. That pretty much limits life right there, so with the travel stuff try to go with the flow even if your itinerary is disrupted.
