Solar Eclipse in Gemini

Tomorrow, June 10, at 6:53 AM EDT, there will be a solar eclipse in Gemini. Astrologically, lunar eclipses trigger internal events related to emotions and intuition. They occur during the full moon.   Solar eclipses occur during the new moon and trigger external events. They’re like double new moons, so more than one new opportunity is ushered in.

However, Mercury is still retrograde and is conjunct the solar eclipse degree. That suggests there may be a delay in the arrival of these new opportunities until after Mercury turns direct on June 22.

Check here to find out how this eclipse impacts your sun sign.

Here’s the eclipse path:

The Matrix & the Maybe War

One morning recently in the Publix grocery store where I’ve shopped for the last 20 years, I was in the pet food aisle when the lights suddenly went out, the power in the store died. The generator didn’t come on.

This usually happens in the summer during violent thunderstorms or before and after hurricanes. That day the weather was just about perfect – sunny, no rain on the horizon, the temp outside at about 84 degrees. It was dark enough so that I turned on the flashlight on my phone to read the labels on the cat food cans.

One of the employees who stocks groceries was also in the aisles. Younger guy, usually quiet and keeps to himself. I glanced over at him.“What happened? It’s not even raining out there.”

“Well, we’re at the brink of war, you know. Any day now.” His eyes were kind of wild as he said this. I looked away.

And suddenly I imagined him at home, a huge bowl of popcorn in front of him. In my head, he’s devouring the popcorn and the latest bullshit and lies on Fox News. “Oh. Right,” I replied, and hurried up the aisle.

Okay, so which matrix am I in?

Well, not his. I’m in the post-pandemic world where Biden won the election, his vaccine rollout is successful, where more than 40 percent of the country has been vaccinated. In Florida, according to the CDC, a little over 40 percent of the population has received at least one vaccine dose.

Back to the grocery store: Five or six minutes later, when I was in another area of the store, the power came back on – or the store’s generator leaped to life.

When I thought about this later, I suspected this young guy was referring to another insurrection that would reinstate trump to the presidency. The far right has been tossing out dates every few weeks for when this would happen. I suppose it’s a good fund raising strategy. Hey, Base! We’re coming back!

The latest date is the end of August – the 31st. This is the date that Michael Lindell, the CEO of My Pillow, has been touting that triump would be reinstated as president.  There’s absolutely zero evidence to support it. Also, there’s nothing in the U.S. Constitution about something like this.

But Lindell doesn’t care. He doesn’t give a shit about his pillows, either. His are awful.
Now that the tourist season here is over, all the equestrians have moved on to cooler climates, Publix is practically deserted. I see that stock guy frequently. One of these days soon, I’m going to ask him where the revolution is now.

Amelia’s Retreat

https://knowtheself.pages.ontraport.net/mexico2021

When I joined Bernie Bernard’s Coincidence Project – I met some great people, all of then into synchronicity in is various facets. Amelia is one of them, an author and spiritual teacher who now lives in Mexico. Over the weekend of July 4, she’s holding a retreat on an island off the mexican coast.

I’d love to attend. She’s well-versed in synchronicity, in all the spiritual stuff that fascinates me. But honestly,  after all the hours we recently spent traveling  traveling  to Montana, I can’t abide the thought of getting on another flight where I’m jammed into a seat so tiny and narrow I can’t even cross my legs. It was an expensive trip. If we hadn’t taken it, I would be booked  to this island where Amelia is holding her retreat.

A fitting Name

Recently, I had some dealings with a man over a writing project. After some discussion both on-line and on a phone call, he said he wanted to hire me  to edit his book and he added that within two hours he would accept the offer I made.

It never happened and the next day, when I asked him about it, he said he was tied up with work, and would take care of it a little later. Days went by and I heard nothing from him. I assumed that after agreeing to work with me, he had been contacted by another writer through the same service and decided to go with him. Fine, that’s business, but say something.

Don’t lie and don’t go silent. Just tell the truth and move on. Only later, when I happened to come across his name, did I stop and notice the synchronicity that had been in plain sight. He’s Ben Lyon. He’s been lyin’ all along!

It may seem at first that the image with this post is unrelated to the story, but think about the play on words. That’s the link.

Darbster

This evening, we met some dog park friends at Darbster’s, a vegan restaurant in West Palm Beach. It’s named after the owner’s dog, now deceased, so pooches are welcome. We met up with Lloyd, Paula, and her friends, Meryl and Jeff. We got seats outside, on the porch, where there was a nice cross-breeze and plenty of shade.

Our server was a masked young woman, with beautiful dark eyes. She spoke with a slight accent and I pegged her for South American. I  finally asked her, in Spanish, where she came from.

“Venezuela,” she replied.

“Me too!” I exclaimed.

She looked shocked. “Where in Venezuela?”

“Caracas and Maracaibo.”

“Me, too!”

We chatted about dictators Maduro, Chavez, and even farther back, to Perez Jimenez, whose regime I lived under. “At least he built things,” she said,

And that much was true. Jimenez was responsible for building the autopista, the highway from Caracas to the coast. He also embezzled $13 million from the Venezuelan treasury when he fled the country and lived out the rest of his life on Miami Beach.

I left Venezuela was I was nearly 17.

She left when she was 17 and was now 27.

Her family was still there. Mine isn’t. She wanted to surprise her mom on mother’s day, but when she checked flights, she discovered a ticket cost $2500 and the trip took 23 hours. Apparently, any American airline that flies to Venezuela these days is one that goes through Mexico and a bunch of other spots before hitting Maiquetia, the Venezuelan airport.

Before we left the restaurant, I asked the young woman her name. “Me llamo Patricia.”

Honestly, I nearly swallowed my tongue. Patricia is my birth name.

Sincronicidad,” I said to her before we left. Synchronicity.

And she nodded and put her arms around me and we hugged.

We traded cell numbers.

Mercury Retrograde Alert

Here we go again, the second Mercury retro of the year. It begins  today, at 6:34 PM, in Gemini, and ends on June 22 at 6 PM.

These retrograde periods usually bring miscommunications of one kind or another. It’s best to review, reconsider, and revise rather than tackling something new.  Don’t sign contracts or make travel plans or buy anything with moving parts. That includes a car, computer, iPad, phone. If you have to travel, be flexible because your itinerary is likely to change unexpectedly.

Be sure to double check appointments you’ve made. Communicate clearly. Have patience. The good thing about Mercury retrograde is that it always ends.

Synchronicity & Altered States

In Bernie Beitman’s Coincidence Project and at the Coincidence Cafe, we’ve been talking about synchronicity and altered states. Are we more open to synchronicity when we’re dreaming, meditating, relaxing, doing drugs? Or, as synchronicity author Ken Harris contends, perhaps we live in an altered state already.

My synchronicities tend to happen when I don’t expect them. I’m going about my business – writing, running errands, driving, whatever, and the synchro happens. But I’ve also experienced synchros in “altered states.”

For years after my parents died, I followed their progress in the afterlife through my dreams. My mother, who had Alzheimer’s the last 10 years or so of her life, died in 2000, after two and a half years in an Alzheimer’s unit. She was 84. My dad, who had Parkinson’s, died in 2005. He was nearly 92.

In the earlier dreams, my mother was still pushing her walker through the halls of the Alzheimer’s unit, calling out for my dad. She stopped people in the hall and asked, “Have you seen Tony?”

I had several of those dreams. They made me uneasy. It seemed unfair that in the afterlife she would still have Alzheimer’s.

I think my dad started releasing his hold on life after he read Carol Bowman’s book, Children’s Past Lives, and subsequently saw her on 20/20 investigating the James Leinenger case.

By the end of the documentary, tears rolled down his face. “That’s the most convincing evidence I’ve ever seen for reincarnation.” He died four months later.

In my afterlife dreams about him, he’s sometimes running. In life, he and my mother were both runners, six days a week. He was younger in these dreams, no signs of crippling Parkinson’s. Or I sometimes saw him studying at a desk similar to the one in his home office. His adjustment to the afterlife seemed smoother than hers.

In 2008 or 2009, Rob taught meditation at a local gym. During one class, we did an eyes half-open meditation. Suddenly, in a corner of the room, I saw my mother. She looked to be about 40, vibrant, laughing. She was on a sidewalk where a long line of people were waiting to get into a theater, and she was ushering them in. She looked wonderful. Then I saw her wave and my dad walked into the image, a bounce to his walk, no wheelchair. He was younger.

I felt a sense of completion.

I believe they realized I could see them and faded away. I haven’t dreamed of them since, at least not in this sequence.

But in my usual state of consciousness – which Ken believes is naturally an altered state- I’ve experienced synchros that have changed my life. Consciousness is flexible. It’s our doorway to other dimensions, other worlds, and synchronicity is its voice.

LUNAR ECLIPSE IN SAGITTARIUS

Tomorrow’s lunar eclipse is in Sagittarius, a mutable fire sign. We all have this sign somewhere in our charts. To find out how this eclipse can impact your sun sign, read May’s horoscope in the masthead for your sign.

Lunar eclipses are about our inner lives – emotions, intuition, how we nurture self and others.
