This is way kool! Considering that African Grays ( I have friends who have had one for years) talk conversationally and not simply mimicking. my take on birds is that they definitely have brains that reason and know what’s happening. I’ve witnessed my friends having conversations with their Gray, whose name is Magick, and the conversations include things the bird hasn’t been taught, yet he responds with incredible comprehension. Pretty mind-boggling! Of course he also repeats virtually everything he hears his humans say, but responding to those things he hasn’t heard with logical and appropriate replies……whew!
