Astronomer Carl Sagan would be very impressed with this telescope, I’m sure. It will be used to search for alien life in deep space. That’s where Sagan thought other intelligent life forms would be found. He thought that UFOs were ordinary objects that were being misidentified. He rejected the idea that they were vehicles from elsewhere.

While Sagan was a well known as a skeptic/debunker of UFOs, earlier in his career he had other ideas.  In fact, he was a major player in 1969 in an attempt to get scientists interested in studying the UFO phenomena through a symposium by the American Association of the Advancement of Science (AAAS). But debunkers managed to get the symposium cancelled. At least one of them, Donald Menzel, lived a double-life as an astrophysicist and also as a player in the government’s debunking mission, one who held high level security clearance. Since then, mainstream science has looked away from any evidence that alien life might already be visiting us.

Even earlier, in 1963, Sagan had actually written about UFOs as if he were a believer. Here’s what he said:

+++

“It now seems quite clear that Earth is not the only inhabited planet. There is evidence that the bulk of the stars in the sky have planetary systems. Recent research concerning the origin of life on Earth suggests that the physical and chemical processes leading to the origin occur rapidly in the early history of the majority of planets. The selective value of intelligence and technical civilization is obvious, and it seems likely that a large number of planets within our Milky Way galaxy – perhaps as many as a million – are inhabited by technical civilizations in advance of our own. Interstellar space flight is far beyond our present technical capabilities, but there seems to be no fundamental physical objections to preclude, from our own vantage point, the possibility of its development by other civilizations.”

+++

That’s from his book, Unidentified Flying Objects,(1963). So why did Sagan turn against the possibility of UFOs as alien crafts later in his career? Could it be that he too – like Menzel –  led a double-life? Is it possible that he was on the inside with knowledge of an alien presence, but used his gentle and compelling manner to promote the debunking agenda? Maybe, maybe not.

What is clear is that the U.S. government, especially the air force, continues to dismiss and ridicule the idea that aliens are here. After reading The Presidents and UFOs: A Secret History from FDR to Obama, by Larry Holcombe, it’s clear that there has been a coverup and it continues to this day.

So as I wrote on Facebook, when I put up the above photo, I would love to see a pic of a UFO hovering about a few hundred feet this enormous telescope. Hello. Here we are.

    What confuses me is the amount of money spent looking for alien life and yet we are told we have been meeting with & negotatiating with ET since the 40s. Eisenhowers great grandaughter has confirmed he and other top brass met with ET back then & so many others have spoken out so is this money spent in order to convince us of the opposite? Or do these telescopes have other functions we don’t know about? Be interested how many here believe we have been interacting with ET for centuries?

    We are definitely being visited. It just amazes me how some people still to choose to believe it’s not happening. A woman in my class shared with us that on a recent vacation in Mexico she, and about 30 others on the beach, saw one and watched it for several minutes!
    I have had very good encounters but I think some negative ones too.
    I don’t care to revisit the negative ones!

    There was just something about Carl Sagan, I believe he believed and he just seems that maybe he learned something and decided to protect us. I don’t know why I feel this way I just do.

    “Keep evil confined to Earth”. How utterly strange, especially considering that so many Christians with whom I’ve mentioned the alien visitation have all, without exception,
    referred to these ‘visitors’ as evil demons from some off-of-earth hell planet, AND, many accounts of abductees and experiencers do report terrible acts imposed upon them. Would love to know where that Christian scholar quoted by Ray G. received his information. From the mouth of God, or maybe just an opinion of that person. All of my husband’s family, and it’s a huge family, are evangelical fundamental Bible-Belt Christians. When the subject has occasionally come up, they are unified in the theory that aliens and ETs are satanic devils. I’ve never dared to tell any of them about my encounters. They’d avoid me like the plague, and I don’t want that. Better to simply remain silent on the matter when they discuss it. To be fair, though, none of us actually knows the bottom-line truth. There is such a litany of schools of thought about it. Any or all of them could be correct.

    I, for one, can’t wait. It is time for my family and friends to realize I’m not a little crazy, that it might actually be true – we are being visited.

  5. Ray G says:

    A Christian scholar once said that there is life on other planets. God doesn’t want us to interact in order to keep evil confined to Earth.

    “Would disclosure be so terrifying?” To many, many thousands of humans I believe disclosure would bring a deep sigh of relief, as it would prove the validity of their (our) personal experiences and encounters. But, to the millions around the world who are Christians, I believe disclosure would be devastating and yes, terrifying, because they would view it as invasions of “demonic and satanic entities”. I base this comment on various conversations with a multitude of Christians over several decades. Without exception, each of these Christians has remarked that “aliens reside in hell” and prey on vulnerable humans, but they (the Christians) are protected by Jesus. Nevertheless, they are genuinely frightened by the very thought of these phenomena being real. It is a challenge to their core convictions, and is a source of horror to them. Even the movies, etc., that depict the aliens as a type of angelic species seems to scare the beejeebies out of them…..they tend to say it is an evil “disguise” intended to seduce humans. I have difficulty wrapping my mind around their belief construct, but it s what it is.

    I wonder if CS began acting like a skeptic because he learned things and was trying to protect us.
    I’ve seen a UFO and have come to realize I’ve also had contact.
    I know that whenever I read about Aliens or watch certain videos I get so sleepy that I struggle to stay awake, yet once the subject changes I’m not sleepy.
    I think they try to keep certain info from me.

    • Rob and Trish says:

      Weird, about the sleepiness!

    • Nancy says:

      I have had that exact same response to certain information! Whether reading it or listening to someone talk about it, I will get very sleepy and fall asleep. I’ll try it another time and the very same thing happens. So weird.

    I personally never had an alien encounter, or even saw a UFO, but after attending the Roswell UFO Conference for several years, and hearing so many different discussions and testamonies by different experts, I am convinced. But surely the U.S. is not the only government with information about UFO’s? Why had no other government or agency come forward? And I really wonder……..perhaps it sounds naive…….but why do they themselves not make contact? Or are the original crop circles and other such phenomena their form of contact?

    • Rob and Trish says:

      Good questions. Other countries, including G.B., have released their UFO files without much impact. I think the visitors have made contact in a number of ways, ie. numerous mass sightings, maybe some crop circles, 3 or 4 intentionally crashed vessels with bio-robots inside. But if the full truth came out, it would probably cause fear and panic that we were under attack. Also, there are probably several different species – if that’s the right word – here, with varying interest from benevolent to indifferent to manipulative. And deep in the government-military-industrial complex is a group that’s well aware and continuing the coverup through disinformation and ridicule.

    Early in my medical career, I had the unique and deeply humbling position of protege’ and “Girl Friday” to the now-deceased M.D./astrophysicist/aeronautical engineer who designed and invented the NASA astronaut breathable flight suits and the external small respirators that replaced the old huge “barrel” iron lung. At that time, his Biomedical Research Institute was in Southern California. Dr. X had flown since he was a child, rec’d his first pilot’s license as a young teen, and until he transitioned recently at the age of 94, he flew virtually every flying machine known on this planet. At the time of his death, he owned 22 planes from all eras and 3 helicopters, which are hangared on his enormous ranch. It goes without saying that he was a genius’s genius, and he was given multiple awards by several presidents. His government classification was Above Top Secret.

    As we had a private dinner here on one of his visits, I asked him if, during any of his thousands of hours flying, he had ever seen a UFO. His response was immediate. Although generally a quietly dynamic, highly personable figure, he laughed out loud at my question with the reply. “Of course not! UFOs don’t exist!” I had never confided to him my personal encounters, (although there’s not a single doubt in my mind that he not only knew of them but was some kind of participant in them), and I did not pursue the subject further with him.

    My work with him left me with the absolute conviction that the government indeed DOES know at least some measure of the UFO/Encounter/Alien Abduction phenomena, and those Like Dr. X and Carl Sagan deny their existence as a matter of utmost Black Ops hidden information. Several of the late astronauts came out of that closet before they died, and their integrity is undeniable. Will full disclosure EVER come? Will such a revelation ever occur? If not, WHY? I wanted so very much to ask my Dr. X, but was aware that even in our professionally intimate relationship, he would never recant. The reasons behind the secrecy, the on-going cover-up, may be much more terrifying than disclosure would be, I think……
