Mysteries Galore

Myriad-of-Murder-web

A bit of promotion today.  You might know that a flock of crows is actually known as a murder of crows. But you probably didn’t know that a bundle of mystery novels is called a Murder of Mysteries. Well, at least, it is now. Here’s a bundle of e-book mysteries, including two by Trish, one by Rob.

Imagine what it would be like to lug around 20 hardcover (or paperback) novels. Probably impossible. But through the magic of e-books, you can get those 20 novels under one cover…and for only $2.99.

Enough said. You can find this bundle at Amazon here, Barnes&Noble here and elsewhere.

Megan’s Dog

jessie after wilma

On February 4, 2015, our blog will be six years old. In its early days, when we got maybe ten hits a week, we had some great synchronicity stories. I culled together some of the best and will re-post them periodically.

Here is one of our favorites, which occurred when our daughter was just eight. She’s now 25:

During an elementary school Thanksgiving project, eight-year Megan showed a dog she had made from clay and announced that she was grateful for the golden retriever she was going to get. Her parents (us!) were puzzled about it. We had no plans to get a golden or any other kind of dog. After all, we had three cats.

But shortly before Christmas, a family friend asked if we would adopt a golden retriever that needed a home. We said we would try out the dog for a week. The retriever, Jessie, immediately got along famously with the cats, settled in front of Rob’s desk, and found a new home.

We remained baffled by how Megan had talked about the animal as if she’d known it was coming. It was a synchronicity – specifically one of foreknowledge or precognition.

That’s Jessie in the above photo, in 2005. Sadly, she passed away in 2007.

Bird’s Journey

GJR_3757WTMK

Our daughter recently moved into a house with her friend, Erin. They met nine years ago, when both were interning at Dolphins Plus in Key Largo, a dolphin research facility that is leagues above anything at Epcot or Sea World. The house, built in the 1920s, sits on an acre of land that backs up to a lake.

Megan’s dog, Nika, who has been living in an apartment building for the last three years, is beside herself with joy. She has a yard! Squirrels in the trees! She can run outside whenever she wants! Doggie paradise, in other words. Erin also has a dog, Bailey, but he only visits because he lives nearby with her parents. She also has a cockatoo, Bird, whom she moved into the house about a week after Erin and Megan made the move.

Bird has a lot of freedom. His wings aren’t clipped and he pretty much has the run of the house, flying around the rooms, touching down on any shoulder that suits him, and chasing Nika. But on his second or third day in the house, Bird flew through the open door to the backyard and vanished. Erin and Megan called for him, heard his answering cries, then those dwindled away to nothing. They moved his cage out into the yard, with food inside, and kept searching for him.

Erin was devastated.

After three or four days, she accepted that Bird wasn’t coming back. Then a weird thing happened. Erin had posted something about Bird’s escape on Facebook. A neighbor of her mother’s friend saw the post and wrote that the other night, she’d heard a bird on her roof and had crawled out a second story window and rescued it. A cockatoo. Could this possibly be Erin’s Bird?

It seemed unlikely. The woman lived nearly an hour’s drive from where Erin and Megan lived. But it was within the vicinity of where Erin’s parents lived, and where Bird had lived most of his life. Was it possible that Bird was trying to get back to its home with Erin’s parents?

Erin knows about synchronicity and decided to check out the cockatoo. When she walked into the woman’s house and saw the bird, she knew it was her Bird. She said, “Bird? Is it really you?” And Bird responded to his name. He is now back at the house where Megan and Erin live and is doing his usual Bird stuff – flying around the house, terrorizing Nika, and cuddling up to Erin.

So, let’s talk about odds on this one. Bird flies away on what turns out to be a very cold night in Orlando, and ends up nearly an hour away from where Megan and Erin are living, but not too far from his former home. He’s white, doesn’t blend with the environment, but manages to survive for several days and nights of very cold temps for Florida. It’s the kind of thing in our area that escaped green parrots do well. They bond quickly with a flock, learn the ropes of life in the wild, and find plenty of food top sustain them. But cockatoos, because of their color, stand out. In all my years in this state, I’ve never seen a wild cockatoo.

Bird finds refuge on the roof of a home whose owner is friends with a friend of Erin’s mother. Two degrees of separation? The woman sees Erin’s post on Facebook about Bird. The rest is synchro history.

Skeptics can cite all kinds of statistics about how such an improbable thing might happen because so many of the planet’s 7 billions plus inhabitants are now connected through the Internet. But that doesn’t explain how Bird just happened to end up on the rooftop of a house owned by a woman who was a friend of a friend of Erin’s mother.  It doesn’t explain anything  unless Bird and his ilk have access to the Internet and Facebook.

Nana Nana

photo

This is kind of a whimsical post just because I (Rob) proved to myself that I don’t know what I’m talking about. It started as an analysis of what I thought was a trickster synchro someone else experienced, only to discover that I was the one tricked. But let me back up.

I came across a story on one of the Facebook synchro pages and responded. The funny thing is that I apparently mistook the writer’s FB handle for the ‘unique name’ mentioned in the first sentence. So my analysis was skewed, but I still like it. Here’s how it went, starting with the FB entry.

Nana Nana – Synchronicity

Saw a woman with a unique name at work. At the end of work, went to see a movie with the same name at the beginning of the movie. What does it all mean??!! Is someone controlling all this? Is our path written for us? Have no idea what’s going on. Seeing same sort of numbers everyday is bad enough, but words in thoughts, said out loud or in dreams appearing in my normal life? ok ok, I’m not going crazy. lol.

My response:

Good story. When you experience synchroncity, you’re stepping outside the everyday world of cause and effect, if only for a moment. It’s a hint, a sign, that there’s a deeper reality, where our true selves exist. This one also might be a trickster synchro…’nana nana’ sounds like the trickster goading you to see that there more to our reality than meets the eye. We’re staring at a puddle, not seeing the ocean.

+++

Then I went back to find out who wrote the story and realized it was Nana Nana herself. Oh, oh. Well, that’s a unique name. But, hey, if you’re going to write about someone else’s unique name, tell us what it is.  After inquiring about that very question, Nana Nana responded that the woman’s name is Morag. And at the beginning of the movie Guardians of the Galaxy the words Planet Morag appeared.

All right, now I know. But I like the story better when I thought the name was Nana Nana.

This Is Who We Are?

We tortured some folks,” Obama said. “But that’s not who we are.”

Really? Until people in the Bush administration who authorized tactics that the Nazis used in their death camps are not only held accountable for their policies, but are indicted, then yes, we are torturers. We are a nation that ignores the Geneva Convention, a nation that believes it is above the law. Until Bush, Cheney, John Yoo, Paul Wolfowitz and all the other political mafiosos of that administration are behind bars, then who are we? We’re a nation of hypocrites.

Who are we to cite China and North Korea and other countries on their human rights violations when we subjected detainees to waterboarding, rectal hydration, hypothermia so extreme that one prisoner died, and isolation that would drive any of us into utter madness?

Meanwhile, Bush in retirement has taken up painting. Cheney got a new heart and can be seen occasionally scowling on Fox News. John Yoo is teaching at Berkeley, a real puzzler, since Berkley is one of the most liberal universities in the country. John Brennan, the head of the CIA now, defends his agency’s tactics.

In reading through some of report released by the Senate Intelligence Committee, I thought I would vomit. How can any human being subject another human being to 47 days in complete isolation? To waterboarding? To hundreds of hours without sleep? To standing on broken feet and legs with your arms tethered above your head while you are buck naked? To threats that your mother and sisters are going to be raped and dismembered unless you come clean?

From the Huffington Post:

During the George W. Bush years there was a brief public debate about whether or not waterboarding was “torture.” The late Christopher Hitchens, who was an important intellectual cheerleader for the Iraq War and an advocate for an aggressive “war on terror” wasn’t convinced that waterboarding was torture so he agreed to have it done to him. A few other reporters also willingly subjected themselves to waterboarding as a publicity stunt to “see what it was like.” I doubt if any pro-torture reporter or intellectual would agree to undergo rectal feeding as Hitchens did with waterboarding to find out if it’s really “torture.” We won’t see Dick Cheney on teevee with a blender and an enema bag any time soon.

And then, over the past few days, another kind of torture took place, a financial torture in Congress. The U.S. government was about to run out of money – again, after a government shutdown in 2013 that cost millions and affected millions. At the last moment, provisions were included that basically gutted the Dodd Frank provision. This is a biggie.

The financial meltdown of 2008 was due to the way banks handled your money – risky derivatives, fraudulent loans – and when the sky was falling, when Lehman Brothers went under and AIG didn’t have a life preserver and went under and many of the homes in your neighborhood went into foreclosure– the government bailed out the banks. At the taxpayers’ expense. With taxpayers’ money. The Dodd-Frank provision said, Hey, you want to engage in risky business? Fine. But you do it without the taxpayers bailing you out if your risk goes south.

With that gutted, many Democrats went ballistic. Elizabeth Warren,  my choice for the presidency in 2016, stepped up to the plate and did what she does best…laid out the perils and led a Democratic insurgency. Spend a little more than nine minutes to watch the barn-burning speech she gave on Friday that makes her a real contender for the presidency in 2016.

From Huff Post again:

After listing the top Citi executives who have gone on to work in the Obama administration, she addressed Citi directly, noting that she agreed that Wall Street reform wasn’t perfect. “I agree with you. Dodd-Frank isn’t perfect. It should have broken you into pieces,” she said.

Unfortunately, the new spending bill passed in the house. Now it’s up to the senate to either approve it or come up with an alternative that excises the Wall Street bailout by taxpayers. The bottom line here is simple. Republicans don’t give a shit about people. They are the Philip K Dick facilitators of Blade Runner, where corporations rule the world. The language in the amendment about the banks was written by Citicorp.

As of Saturday night, the senate passed the bill.

Rob and I were feeling pretty bad about all this  as we sat out by our fire pit, in the South Florida chill. “I feel like we’re de-evolving,” he said. “As a species, as a nation.”

“I kinda hoped the old paradigm would go out with a whimper,” I remarked. “But that’s not happening. Maybe we have to de-evolve before we evolve.”

My fear is that it may take us so long to evolve that neither Rob nor I will be here to see it happen.  But our daughter and her children will be here. And to those of you who say that politics don’t matter, that life goes on, I say: Everything is politics. From the food you eat, to the water you drink to drugs your doc prescribes to the TV shows and movies that entertain you, to the power you claim over your own body, color, ethnicity, religion, to the very identity you have as a human being, everything is politics.

If you don’t speak up, then others will gladly speak for you and you may not like what they have to say. So then, what’re you gonna do??

Wellington Sighting?

This evening, Rob and I were leaving our local Barnes & Noble where we’d done a little Christmas shopping, and as we reached our car, I looked up and saw a very weird thing in the sky. The evening was cool, cloudless, and this object was extremely bright and uniformly white. It was similar to what’s shown in the video above, except that it was larger, brighter, and much whiter.

“Hey, Rob,” I said, and pointed upward. “Is that a chopper?”

We often have choppers flying around our area- usually police helicopters that are low, noisy, and have their spotlights focused on a particular street where something questionable or illegal is going on.

But this object didn’t make a sound. It was around 1500 feet up when we first saw it, then dropped lower, to perhaps 500 feet, then to maybe 200 feet, then sped up and went higher, then lower again. Its brightness never diminished and we never heard a sound.

I had to go to Walgreen’s, so Rob parked on the dark side of the lot while I was inside the store and watched it. He said it dropped very low and he could see it through some distant trees.

When I came out of Walgreen’s, the light was still visible, but now there was a small plane in the air that appeared to be headed toward it.

As we braked at a stop light on our way out of the shopping area, a yoga instructor we know pulled into the lane next to us and we lowered the window. We spoke to her for a few moments, till the light changed, and mentioned what we’d seen. But when the light turned green and we moved forward again, the light had vanished. The small plane was alone in the sky and barely visible in the distance.

If there’s a synchro in this, it’s that one of the books we’d bought was Extra-Planetary Experiences: Alien-Human Contact and the Expansion of Consciousness by Thomas James Streicher, a student of Harvard author, psychiatrist and UFO research John Mack. I figured the book wouldn’t make it under the Christmas tree because either Rob or I would sneak away with it. Interestingly, our Barnes & Noble stocks very few New Age books and when Rob picked up this particular book, one of the few on UFOs/aliens, he glanced through it and handed it to me.

“Look at the table of contents. I think this is a keeper.”

I looked at the TOC and into our pile it went.

I later texted Ken Peterson about the incident and explained the details. That’s probably it, he wrote. They may have been letting you know that there is important info in the book.

To this, I replied, Is the communication that personal? Hey, Macs, you bought a book with important info in it?

Ken’s reply: Yes, I think so. I think some contact is close at hand. Can’t wait to find out what you read about. That was a long time they were out there!

So, we’ll see where this one leads! I’m going to be reading this book at the gym tomorrow.

Ken Peterson & All Those 18s!

18

Several days ago, we posted a story about Ken Peterson, who was in the truck with Travis Walton when he was abducted in 1975. He had a second sighting encounter on November 23, 1993, 18 years and 18 days after the Walton encounter, that occurred at 1800 hours.

I sent Ken some questions – about all the 18s involved in his second sighting in 1993, whether he’d ever sensed any government involvement in the sightings/encounters, how these events had changed his life, and whether he felt these sightings had increased his psychic ability. Click the link before reading this post so you understand the background on this story.

+++

Since the 1993 sighting occurred with my friend Andrea, born on my birthdate, it got me thinking about synchronicity, birthdays, and sightings/encounters.

Of the two people from whom I received my genetic makeup – my parents – one was born on the 18th. My father was born on March 18th.    Of the four people to whom I passed my genetics – my four sons – two of them were born on the 18th. My second son, Keith, named after my father, and was born on Sept. 18th. My fourth son, Marc, was born on Dec. 18th – birthday of Spielberg, who directed the Indiana Jones movies. (This reference refers to how synchronicity led Ken to our blog). So three of the six people involved in giving me my genetics or receiving my genetics, had/have birthdays on the 18th. Andrea has a younger brother born on March 18.

That made me think that since the 2 UFO incidents were linked by the “18” synchronous time period, it might be a hint that the ETs behind the 2 incidents are genetically linked to us.

As far as my psychic ability or sensitivities goes, from  the time of the 93′ sighting, I have been able to tune in to significant synchronicities.

No, I haven’t detected any sign of government involvement, or interest in my experiences.

As far as the importance of synchronicity in my experiences, it has been the dominant thing. I did receive an amazing mark on my thumbnail, that I will write about later. It connected up with something I haven’t gotten to, yet.

+++

Stay tuned for follow up posts. I’m intrigued by the mark on his thumbnail!

The People You Meet at the Dog Park

In November 2009, a week before Thanksgiving, Noah came to us via the Golden Retriever Rescue of Palm Beach County.  He was nine months old, a stunning  reddish gold beauty who was pitifully thin and still groggy from his  trip to the vet’s. He immediately bonded with Rob. His owner had Noah’s parents and had intended to use him as a stud. He’d been crated most of his life and really hadn’t been socialized at all. So Rob and I began taking him to our dog park.

Our dog park is an idiosyncratic place. For the most part, the people who come there do so because they love their dogs, because their dogs insist on visiting the park at a  particular time each day, because their dogs need to run free. In the five years since we’ve been going to the park, a group of us who come in the afternoons have become friends.

First, there was Colleen, who owned three dogs, often took care of other people’s dogs, and who eventually moved on to Michigan. Colleen often took care of Cody, an Alaskan husky who belongs to Karin, a Virgo who hails originally from upstate New York. Karin has lived here for 13 years, has a daughter several years younger than Megan and a son Megan’s age. Karin is married to Warren, who has a marvelous gift for storytelling and worked for years in the equine business in Saratoga, New York, where horses are the main business.

A second Carin, who owns two labradoodles, is a retired hospice nurse who volunteers regularly at the performing arts center in West Palm Beach.

Cassie owns two border collies – Willow and Kilt – and has worked in the horse business for nearly 30 years. For the last six years, she has worked for bestselling novelist Tami Hoag. Cassie has traveled all over the world in her work with horses and while she worked for Hoag has moved from the northeast  to Malibu and then to our area.

Then there is Estes, who hails from Spain and is married to a Brazilian, Marcio. They own Red the hound who is terrified of thunder, and both teach music at local schools. Last fall, Estes asked if Megan would attend the Hispanic Arts Festival at a local college that she and her husband had organized.

“But she’s not Hispanic,” I said.

Estes shrugged. “You were born in Venezuela, so that makes her of Venezuelan descent.”

I asked Megan is she would like to participate, she said sure, so on a recent Saturday evening we headed over to Palm Beach Atlantic College.

Marcio introduced Megan, who spoke about her art. The dolphin in the above pic is the one she used, a one-panel.  And then we discovered that Estes and Marcio aren’t just music teachers.  They are performance pianists who have played all over the world.

As duo pianists, their combined music is powerful, sweeping, a mosaic of classical and contemporary pieces that reflect their Hispanic and Brazilian roots. We sat there enthralled.

We also discovered they are the piano-duo in residence of the college and over their decade of performances, have commissioned more than 20 original works by renowned composers from South America and Europe.

Afterward, we gathered in the lobby for snacks and were talking about how blown away we were by Estes and Marcio’s performances. Karin, the retired hospice nurse, commented that she sees a lot of pianists at the performing arts center where she volunteers. “And I can tell you that Estes and Marcio are better than anyone I’ve seen at the center.”

The other Karin remarked,   “Hey, you just never know about the people you meet at the dog park…”

In honor of the Hispanic festival, Megan named the dolphin pictured above “Consuelo.”

The Incredible Odds

train+tracks+snow

Twitter is an intriguing social media in that you’re allowed 140 characters to say what you want to say. Once a week or so, I re-post something from our blog and periodically I receive an email notification that we have a new follower. Today’s email was that we were now being followed by Tim Wallender.

I remembered his name from nearly six years ago and blogged onto Twitter just to verify if this Tim was the same Tim who had experienced an astounding synchro that we included in our first synchronicity book. As soon as I saw his Twitter tag- trainhater – I knew it was the same Tim. So we’re reposting his synchronicity, which originally went up on our blog in May 2009, the fourth month of our blog’s existence.

Tim, who lives in Memphis, had told us this story took place in Wisconsin around 1995. It’s an incredible instance of objects lost – and then found in a very mysterious way.

+++

Both me and my brother worked for the same railroad. He was an engineer and I was a conductor at the time. One day we were both working but on different trains. It was the first day that the railroad issued cell phones to the engineers. The engineer I was working with asked me who I thought would be the first one to lose their phone. I said without a doubt my brother would.

A few miles further down the track we had to stop and set out some cars. Mind you, this is approximately 120 miles from where we both started our trip and only my train was to stop there. I set out the cars and engine, and as I looked down in the snow there was a cell phone. My engineer was there also to help with the hoses and we both looked at each other and said, “No way.” Sure enough I open up the case and there was a sticker with my brother’s name on it.

I called him at the hotel he was staying at in Chicago and asked him where his phone was. He said he didn’t know. Turns out his second engine was giving him trouble and it must have fallen out of his pocket when he walked back to check it out.

I don’t know what the odds are of finding your brother’s cell phone 120 miles from where he got it, the same day he got it, and only minutes after telling someone that he would lose it. Or what are the odds of stopping on top of it and looking down in about a three-foot section of rail and finding it?

+++

The odds? Wow.

Ken Peterson & Travis Walton

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LhshgLJuuM

Our e-mail often brings astonishing news and contacts. On Saturday, November 15, we received the following email through the contact form on this blog. The subject heading read: Travis Walton UFO Encounter. The email was from Ken Peterson:

I was sitting next to Travis Walton when he got out of the truck and approached the UFO. 18 years and 18 days later, in 1993, I experienced another UFO incident. I was with a woman whose birth was on the exact same day as my birth. I have noticed many, many incredible synchronicities since then. They have let me know that the UFO encounter in 1975 was, most likely, an intentional display of the death and birth symbolism of the mythical Phoenix. There were many connections to Phoenix, Arizona. Travis Walton’s birth was in Phoenix. The latest synchronicities have led me to you. Would you be interested in hearing about them? Ken

If you’re unfamiliar with the Travis Walton UFO encounter/abduction story, read an excerpt from Walton’s book Fire in the Sky, which also became a movie. It’s one of the most famous abduction cases and there were collaborative witnesses to the sighting and the events that led up to Walton’s abduction.

In a nutshell, on November 5, 1975, loggers Walton, Peterson, John Goulette, Steve Pierce, Allen Dallis and Dwayne Smith were clearing brush in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest in Arizona. Around 6 p.m. they knocked off and piled into Rogers’ truck for the drive back to Snowflake, where the men lived. Shortly after they started home, they saw a bright yellowish light from behind a hill. They drove closer and saw a large golden disc hovering above a clearing, shining brightly.

From Walton’s book: “We rolled past the intervening evergreen thicket to where we could have an unobstructed view of the source of the strange radiance. Suddenly we were electrified by the most awesome, incredible sight we had seen in our entire lives. There, a mere twenty feet above the ground, a strange, golden disc hovered silently.”

The stationary craft was less than thirty yards away and didn’t make a sound. “I was suddenly seized with the urgency to see the craft at close range,” Walton wrote, and got out of the truck. “I entered the dim circular halo of light softly reflecting onto the ground under the craft. I was about six feet from being directly beneath the machine. Bathed in the yellow aura, I stared up at the unbelievably smooth, unblemished surface of the curving hull. I was filled with a tremendous sense of awe and curiosity as I pondered the incomprehensible mysteries possible within it.”

While his companions shouted at him to get back to the truck, Walton became aware of barely audible sounds coming from the craft. “Suddenly I was startled by a powerful, thunderous swell in the volume of the vibrations from the craft. I jumped at the sound, like that of a multitude of turbine generators starting up. I saw the saucer start wobbling on its axis with a quickening motion, in a pattern like the erratic spin of an unstabilized top.”

Then a bright, blue-green ray shot from the bottom of the craft and struck Walton. “All I felt was the numbing force of a blow that felt like a high-voltage electrocution. The intense bolt made a sharp cracking, or popping, sound. The stunning concussion of the foot-wide beam struck me full in the head and chest. My mind sank quickly into unfeeling blackness. I didn’t even see what hit me; but from the instant I felt that paralyzing blow, I did not see, hear, or feel anything more.”

The force lifted Walton off the ground and he was hurled backward through the air and slammed to the ground. The men in the truck freaked out and fled. When they returned to the area fifteen minutes later, the craft – and Travis – were gone. Peterson called the police around 7:30 p.m.

Walton was missing for five days. The other members of the crew were subjected to polygraph tests, intense interrogation by the police, and media scrutiny by researchers and skeptics. It was suspected that they had murdered Walton.

+++

I asked Ken Peterson about that night and how the encounter changed his life:

When I saw the flying saucer, it was levitating, not making a move or a sound. I just looked at it with a feeling of awe. Of course, that changed to fear (but mostly shock) when it wobbled, made the noise and the flash of light came out. After we fled and returned to the site 15 minutes later, and after seeing that the UFO and Travis were gone, I had a feeling that nothing would be normal, after what had just happened. It was a positive feeling.

I sensed that they had been waiting for us, allowed us and Travis to get close, did what they were going to do with him, and that they would be bringing him back.  It changed my life in that it led me to a belief in the Ancient Astronaut theory, and that the human-looking beings Travis said he interacted with were somehow connected to ETs that had lived here on Earth at one time.

It appears that the things with the ETs and synchros linked to them, are all about a preparation for an eventual transfer of knowledge. I believe that a group of people will be brought together, through their similar experiences and synchros, to receive that knowledge. They will understand that it is all predestined, and that the information will be an important part of our transition into a new age (golden age?).

The second sighting that Ken referred to in his initial email occurred in Tucson, on November 23, 1993- 18 years and 18 days after the Walton encounter, at 1800 hours. He was with three other people, including Andrea, the woman born on the same day and year as Ken. That in itself struck me as a remarkable synchro and all those 18s seized my attention.

He described this sighting as a “Phoenix lights” type of encounter that introduced him to the concept of synchronicity. Andrea said that the sighting for her was spiritual and felt like a “Christ consciousness.”

Ken notes that a number of synchros involving Walton related to “phoenix.” Walton was born in that city; the rebirth concept of phoenix is related to these encounters; and that River and Joaquin Phoenix have figured into the larger picture, as illustrated in this example:

“In 39 years, I have done only 6 interviews connected with both Travis and our 1975 encounter. The first interview I did, along with him, was in 2002, 27 years after the encounter. It was for an ABC special hosted by M. Night Shymalan, done in connection with the movie Signs, which co-starred Joaquin Phoenix.”

Since Ken doesn’t have a computer, he walks to his local library to use the computer there. As a result, our email exchanges aren’t instantaneous and it’s sometimes challenging to sift through them, looking for the pertinent material! That said, here’s the synchro that eventually led him to our blog.

“In August 2008, Travis and I and some of his family members did a TV show in L.A Right after the show, we took the shuttle to Universal Studios City Walk. Almost immediately, we all saw Edward James Olmos and a woman sitting down at a table, in the patio of a restaurant.    He may have been at Disney Studios nearby, working on the movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua, which came out 2 months after we saw him.  In that movie, Drew Barrymore did the voice of the Chihuahua dog. Of course, she became famous as Gertie, in Spielberg’s ET. Henry Thomas, her co-star in ET, played the role of one of the crew members in Fire in the Sky, the 1993 Paramount movie about our encounter. Seeing Olmos led to a big connection related to Linda Ronstadt, who was engaged to George Lucas at one time. Of course, that connected up with River Phoenix, who was the young Indy, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.”

And Rob wrote the novelization for Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade.

We’ll be posting a follow-up with Ken, where he answers some questions we sent him. And about all those 18s…?
