Trump voters: Convinced yet that you made the wrong choice?

Before the election, I heard various reasons from people I know for why they were voting for trump: the economy, the situation at the border, he’ll lower the cost of living, he’s tough, he’ll get rid of waste…

And now that we’re about a year into his disastrous presidency, it’s obvious that NONE  of what trump promised his diehard followers has been delivered.  First, trump brought the tariffs and ICE, which certainly appears to be fashioned after Hitler’s SS. And the cost of living has soared. People are losing their health care coverage. And trump isn’t tough, that’s laughable. He’s the archetype of the playground bully from middle school. But worse.

He invaded Venezuela and abducted Maduro, their dictator. Glad Maduro is gone. But  the rest of the regime is still there, stifling dissent and sending out their military to disappear people. And now he’s declaring himself acting president of Venezuela. Huh? He can’t even govern this country. He’s like the cry baby in the photo, trying to get even with anyone who criticized him.

What’s really baffling to me is his support from people who call themselves Christians.Why would anyone, much less a Christian, support a convicted felon? One of pedophile Epstein’s buddies? Trump doesn’t give a shit about Christianity. He has said he’s worried about what will happen to him when he dies.But  hey dude, it’s probably a little late to worry about your soul since you seem to have been soulless for most of your life.

And all of this makes me wonder if this orange monster is our karma for slavery, the internment of the Japanese, the invasion of sovereign countries…well, the list of this country’s horrors is long and deeply tragic. So are Americans waking up to what’s going on?

Perhaps. Recent protests- which Rachel Maddow has covered – provide hope.

The murder of Renee Nicole Good may be the trigger. Mom of three, U.S. citizen. But trump and his sycophants lied, of course about the events. They called her a domestic terrorist and claim she tried to run over the ICE agent who shot her and acted in self-defense.They want you to believe what they say  and dismiss what you saw on the videos.

That’s how fascist regimes and dictatorships work. Don’t believe your own eyes.

So we the people have a clear choice: do we believe the lies of a pathological liar? Or do we believe what we see with our own eyes and get out there and protest this regime and demand trump’s impeachment or that he be removed through the 25th amendment?

Breaking News Events Hit Home

In the 7 Secrets of Synchronicity, one of the secrets (Secret 7) is called The Global: When synchronicities manifest themselves through global events, the universe seems to be addressing us as a collective.

But sometimes, it can also be personal, as in current prominent breaking news events in the past week that involve the invasion of Venezuela (where Trish was born) and the ICE killing of an American citizen in Minneapolis (where Rob was born.) So those events hit us with possibly more impact than others felt – though clearly both events were seen as outrageous and uncalled for by many.

I thought of making note of the personal side of those synchronicities after seeing another synchro in the news: A South Florida Sun-Sentinel photographer captured not only anti-ICE protesters on the street in Boca Raton after the brutal shooting death of the mother of three in Minneapolis, but also managed nicely – whether the photographer knew it or not – to include the Home Deport truck in the the photo. Home Depot as been the target of protests for allowing ICE to set up in their parking lots and arrest brown-skinned  immigrant shoppers.

Good vs. Evil

The universe has a way of shoving truths in our faces through synchronicity. Yesterday’s horror show in Minneapolis – the blatant murder of Renee Nicole Good, captured on video, is one of the most blatant synchronicities.

A woman whose last name was GOOD,  was murdered by evil – ICE and the trump administration. Kristy Noem and trump and the rest of the sycophants continue to lie about what happened  by calling her a the woman a domestic terrorist. Noem even stated that Good tried to run over an ICE agent. In essence, they are telling us not to believe what we see with our own eyes.

If you haven’t seen the video, watch it. The ICE agent wasn’t run over and Noem’s story about how he had to be taken to the hospital is clearly another BS lie.The tragedy of this murder is that she was a 37-year-old mom to three young kids.

The murder and the lies that followed really illustrate the depths of evil to which trump and his cronies have descended. & for what? So trump can pretend he won the video game?

PROTEST! It’s the one tool we the people still have.

NFL synchro

It’s the height of football season – not that Trish cares – but Rob pays attention to some degree and spotted a good synchro in the mix this year.

First, I should say that I grew up in Minneapolis as a Vikings fan. Last year, the Vikings quarterback was Sam Arnold, who won 14 of the 17 games. He came in as a so-so back quarterback to replace the  rookie J.J. McCarthy, who was injured in the first game and was seen – and still is – as  the team’s #1 quarterback. But then Sam went on to win 14 of 17 games and no longer looked like a  back-up. However, he lost the last game of the season to the Detroit Lion, then lost the first playoff game. So the team unceremoniously dumped him. Bye-bye, Sam.

Along came the Seattle Seahawk, who picked up Darnold, and gave him a 3-year contract. So this season he did it again. He won 14 of 17 games. Two years in a row, and the Seahawks are the #1 ranked team in the NFC playoffs, which gives them a value week off before entering the playoffs.

I’ve listened to the sports commentators waiting for at least one of them to notice the obvious synchronicity. So far, I haven’t heard any of them  mention that Sam Darnold won 14 games in ’24, 14 games in ’25, and…guess what, his jersey # is 14.

And the number 14 adds up to 5- the number of freedom!

2026- Yikes!

2026! Coming right up!

What are your hopes? Dreams?

The beginning of 2025 brought us the beginning of the trump admin horrors. ICE. Immigrants being snatched off the streets and sent to places like El Salvatore, Alligator Alcatraz, & other hellholes. The cancellation of cancer research, the cutting off of health care for millions of Americans, the cost of living surging, the bombing of Venezuelan boats. & then there’s the Epstein files.

In just a year, Trump has exposed the weaknesses in the constitution, surrounded himself with sycophants who just bow or ignore his insanity, and has revealed just how corrupt the conservative supreme court is. Billionaires come to him with gifts, he tears down the East wing of the White House, threatens to pull the licenses of broadcasting channels that criticize him, gets comedians fired…. And put his name on the Kennedy Center…

Then there is RFK, the secretary of health and human services, a total scam job. He’s not a physician, has no medical background, and is an avid anti-vaxxer and conspiracy nut. He has canceled childhood vaccines, disbanded the CDC and basically pushes snake oil for everything. As a physician I know said, “It’s tragic that Americans can no longer trust anything the CDC says.”

Then there’s Kash Patel, Kristi Noem the dog killer, and JD Vance, and…well, every  list is LONG.

So, my hope for 2026? That the trump nightmare ends. Orange man disappears – impeachment, incarceration, incapacity, death or, better yet, the aliens whisk him away to Pluto. But as one friend quipped, “The aliens and Pluto don’t want him.”

The problem is that even when trump is gone, the damage he has wreaked in this country and abroad may take decades to heal if it heals at all. Worldwide, there seems to be a hunger for authoritarian rule. But what’s the appeal? Do this many people on the planet need a strong daddy figure? & if that’s the case, how can trump or Putin or any of the despots trump allegedly admires be construed as strong?

First and foremost, these guys are bullies, no different than the proverbial kid on the playground who threw a tantrum when you made more baskets then he did. They are mysogynists, racists, sexists of the worst kind, and they see the world as theirs to conquer and control. If you aren’t white, male and straight, you are nothing in their eyes.

Obviously, I could go on and on. But to those of you who voted for trump, especially if you’re a woman, I hope that after a year of his destruction, his inhumanity and cruelty, you see through orange man’s facade. He’s a terrible baby, a dangerous kid, vengeful, insidious.

The concepts of democracy are powerful ideals and they work best through WE THE PEOPLE…not through I AM KING or I AM THE BOSS OF YOU WHO INSISTS YOU DO WHAT I SAY OR ELSE…

So my greatest hope for 2026 is that these protests against this orange monster increase by the millions and that WE THE PEOPLE reclaim our country, our democracy where all men – and women! – really are created equal.
