Dad, Mom, and their connection

 (The image is from soul cards. Check out the site. The art and the technique are astonishing).

 This synchronicity came from Sandie of Marietta, Georgia, who describes herself as a “hopeless romantic who tries to see the world through rose-colored glasses.” It illustrates the powerful emotional connections that exist among people even when they have been divorced for decades.
+++

My parents married 11/22/1941.  They divorced 7/5/1975.  My dad (1918) lived in LA and my mom (1919) lived here in Georgia.  My dad wanted the divorce to remarry, my mom always loved him.
In January my mother was taken to hospice and on January 30th around 7:30pm here in Georgia – she died.  We were still in her room and I received a call that my father – in LA – had just died suddenly from a heart attack, ten minutes earlier than my mother.
When my mom died – she had been in a coma – she opened her eyes and looked at Kristie (niece), Kelly (daughter) and me – and then held her hand upwards for someone to take her.  I think of course it was God – but hope it was my dad too.
What are the odds of that?
++
In a followup email, we asked Sandie if her parents had been in contact very much during the years since their divorce. She said they  came together when her brother died in 1997, but otherwise their contact was periodic. I’ve heard other stories like this and always wonder if agreements are made at some deep psychic level that one person will pass on first so he/she will be there  to greet the other when they die.

Dr. Rob or Karma Yoga-2

Recently, a yoga teacher from another country  e-mailed, saying she would be in town over the holidays and wondered if I still drove to Boca Raton for a particular yoga class and teacher. When Trish saw the e-mail, she was a little annoyed, wondering why I had to give her a ride, and where the hell did I meet her, anyhow. She likes to give me a hard time about the yoga women I know, who are mostly my students.

So a couple of days later, I was in a convenience store paying for gas when I noticed the guy in front of me wearing a t-shirt that on the back read : ‘Dr. Rob: Where does he get all these women?’ Back in the car, I told Trish about it. We laughed, wondered what it was about, then headed home.

That evening, we stuck a DVD in the player and a trailer came on for Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, starring ROB Schneider. Trish deadpanned: “Synchronicity.”

Then the movie came on, High Fidelity, starring John Cusack, who plays a record store owner named ROB Gordon, and it was all about his string of girl friends, all of whom had dumped him. So during the movie, I kept saying where does Dr. Rob get all these women. Megan, who had joined us, wondered why I called the record store owner a doctor. “Oh, it’s just a little trickster synchronicity, Megan.”

“Yeah, and Dr. Rob better watch out or he’ll be advertising mattresses,” Trish added.

If that last comment puzzles you, see Karma Yoga.

What’s coming for MMX?

Since many of you are highly intuitive, we thought it would be fun to collect some predictions for 2010. Then next year we can take a look and see how we did.

You can be serious or humorous. You can predict what will happen in politics, to celebrities, to the economy. Who will emerge on the national scene, who will fade away? Who will be involved in a sex scandal? (Can we top Letterman and Tiger?) What will happen in the Mideast? How will Obama fare? What will Sarah Palin do? How will the fall elections in the U.S. go? What will happen on the terrorist front? What about wild weather? Those are  just a few ideas. Try to be as specific as possible.

For starters, here’s Rob: (1) Glenn Beck will be admitted to a psych ward for observation after an incident, but there will be a coverup and he will return to FOX News after a break to spend more time with his family. (2) A major sports figure will emerge as a leading Republican, possibly aiming for the White House. He’ll have a short name, a likable smile, and seem very down-to-earth. 3) Obama will face tough scrutiny in the fall from both the right and the left. His popularity will hit a low point. After the election, he starts to regain  momentum and does something quite surprising.

Here’s Trish: 1) Glenn Beck’s roommate in the psyche ward will be Rush Limbaugh 2) Tighter controls on Americans – not just in travel, but in every facet of life 3) More erratic weather patterns 4)The Dems barely hold onto Congress in the midterm elections and 4)the mind/body connection research takes new, unexpected turns

What’s your take on 2010?

On the Road with Gypsy

Photo by Marius Morar

We’ve posted a number of synchronicities involving dreams. This next one came from Gypsy Woman and as you’ll see, there are several layers to this synchronicity – a country, a road, a walking stick, and the photographer and blogger.

The dream sounds very much like a past life memory.  But we’ll let her tell it.
+++

I dreamed I was living in another time, long ago. I was dressed in several layered long skirts and tops and wore a fitted jacket that fell right below the waist. My hair was down and I had some sort of head scarf on. It was cold, not quite winter yet but cold. I  was carrying a valise of the time and it seems that all my belongings were in it.

  I was on foot traveling down a dirt road –  a rutted road that carts or wagons used as well which made it more difficult to walk. The road wandered through groves of trees and there were a few other people at times walking this road, as well. As I was walking, a side dirt road/path to my right intersected with the road I was on. As I neared the side road, I looked up to see a man there, walking toward the main road where I was. He  carried a sort of walking stick. Our eyes caught and as he neared me, I sensed that he was friendly and not to be feared. He spoke spoke as he approached a bit ahead of me and I called to him and asked where he was headed . He answered with the  name of a small village some way ahead.

I asked if  we might walk together and he said of course.  I tried to walk more quickly to catch up to him as he waited. I  was having difficulty walking because of a hip injury of some kind (somehow I think I had been shot) and told him Iwas unable to walk very fast because of it. He stood there a bit ahead, waiting as I came   up and said, “Here, perhaps this would help you. Take this.” He handed me the walking stick he carried as we began to walk together. Then I woke up with a searing pain in my right hip.

I’ve not been able to get this dream out of my mind today for some reason. As a matter of fact, it was so intense I even mentioned it to someone else today and said that in my dream, it seemed that I was either in the Ukraine, Hungary or Romania, but  Romania kept seeming to be the place.”

 +++
The next day, Jenean found a photograph on another blog –  at the top of the post – that was identical to the road and the man  with the walking stick she had seen in her dream. She wrote to Marius Morar, the blogger and the photographer and he allowed us to use the photo. This story is particularly striking in that Mr. Morar is Romanian. In an  email exchange, he said the young man with the stick is his seven-year-old son and the road is “from Romania, some 10 miles away, south of Cluj-Napoca, in the middle of historic Transylvania.”  So once again, the Internet acted as a conduit to something greater and was a vehicle for synchronicity.

The Two TVs

 Our impulses are often vehicles of synchronicity. We feel an urge to do something,drive somewhere, change our routine, and down the road a bit discover that the  impulse proved prescient. In this next story, an impulse purchase that a friend made proved to be synchronous. She asked to remain anonymous.

My grandfather is dying.  He’s opted not to have surgery for his cancer, a decision he made when my grandmother died a few years ago.  Anyway, his tumors have grown and made it uncomfortable to breathe.  He doesn’t have a lot of time left, so  I bought him a nice TV for Christmas, which may be seen  may be seen as stupid folly. But I did it anyway.  Something in my brain said it would be helpful because I doubted he could go out and mow the grass or go fishing much when it got down to the wire.  But he could enjoy TV.  I had no idea if he had a TV or how old it was. So I wanted him to have a nice one to focus on. I didn’t tell anyone, not even my husband. It was just an impromptu giant surprise.

So what happens? I get an email from my aunt, telling me that his TV conked out the day the new one arrived.

More magical water

After seeing our New Year’s Day post on Emoto’s water, Peter Durant of New York wrote us with an interesting water tale. He sees it as a synchronicity in that he had been thinking about his well and it’s ‘magical’ qualities the night before our post went up. If Peter’s tale is true, then I’m sure that millions of men over 50 would be very interested in drinking from his water source. We’ll let Peter tell his story, which is somewhat quirky, but never strays far from the water theme.

***
 “I am very fortunate to have a 150 foot deep well below my basement with water that has magical properties.
“That said, let me put my story in perspective. You see, I live in a highly repressive district situated between the Rockefeller estate to my direct east, in Westchester County New York, and the former Harriman estate to my immediate north. These two fabulously wealthy and powerful families have played and continue to play an enormous role in shaping American and world history. The historic presence of these two families looms large in how this local area has developed into a cutting edge district featuring strict controls. One prime example of those controls, it’s almost impossible to drill private wells and enjoy your own source of water. Well diggers attest that these controls are driving them out of business.
“In the post 911 era, control is a word that, in my humble opinion, characterizes our new way of life.
The control by a few over the many has been a reoccurring theme throughout the history of mankind. From the English speaking world, two documents shine as expressions of emancipation away from the control of the few over the many. They are the Magna Carta and the Declaration of Independence.
“These two expressions of liberation have ensured us the freedoms associated with life as we have known it. However, change has occurred and continues to unfold, and they are forewarning us of a return to an era where the few exercise total control over the many. We could be entering a period of neo-feudalism as these controls spread.
“I could cite many forms of control that are emerging but I will focus solely on one. That is for me, probably the most ominous and relevant to your water post of January 1, 2010. Water is being used by the few to control the many. It is the most obvious choice because of its extraordinarily vital nature.
“After many years of struggle with the local agents of control vis a vis my water consumption, I have reached these conclusions: One, the municipal water supply is clearly tampered with. Besides the obvious chlorine and fluorine, something else, possibly a radioactive substance is being added. How does one explain the rapid rise in frequent and urgent urinating symptoms? Is it really prostate troubles? I think not! Women also are experiencing these frequent and urgent urination symptoms.
“Two, the bottled water phenomena has been raging now for years. People are always carrying bottles of water, and for years I spent a small fortune buying bottled water. Until recently, practically all the bottled water was unadulterated. However, I believe now that a substance is added to bottled water that can be remotely activated, resulting in a need to urinate frequently and urgently. So much for that ominous bit of speculation.
“Returning now, to my well. Last night I was reflecting on how all my troubles with insane urination have magically disappeared since I reopened my well. It was dug 60 years ago by the original owners, but had not been used for 40 years.We stopped using the well back in the 1960’s when I was a young boy because during the summers, especially during the month of August, the well would run dry. It was a major inconvenience. Consequently, we hooked up to the municipal water company and our troubles were over…or so we naively believed.
“During the 1960s, ’70s, and even the ’80s, water was not controlled by the powerful few. However, as time went by, I detected a rise in the occurrence of urination problems that I theorized was from contaminated drinking water, and other drinks, soda pop, juices, whatever. I began a Spartan regime of isolating drinks to determine which were being tampered with until it seemed that everything was tampered with.
“After reaching the end of the road, the end of unadulterated drink, when my options had run out, a strange event took place. My well began to overflow after heavy rains. I cannot remember this well overflowing in the past, even during the heaviest of rains. Considering my obsession about water, this occurrence was a clear synchronicity for me.
“I became curious and looked much closer at this neglected well . The water was almost magical. It’s crystal clarity was speaking to me. “Here I am, silly fellow.” So I’ve indulged and overcome this frequent urge to urinate, and I can only attribute my recovery to the absolute beauty of this crystal clear water from my private well.
Peter

I remember telling Trish years ago that I wondered if the abundance of bottled water on the market was part of a scam. “Maybe it’s a mafia enterprise and there are guys in New Jersey filling bottles with tap water.” That was a joke, and I didn’t have any more facts to support it than Peter has regarding his baffling contention about bottled water. Then again, from his personal experience, his well water has proven to him all he needs to know.

Mind Over Matter

Masaru Emoto  is a visionary Japanese researcher and author who has clearly demonstrated the way the mind effects matter. Specifically, his work is with water, showing how water exposed to various thoughts,words, toxins, prayers and photographs is altered at a molecular level. His work is documented in several stunning books. In the first photo, the crystal  was formed from thoughts of love and appreciation.

This mess? Thoughts or a photo of or just the word Hitler

This one? From “thank you.”

Heavy metal music

This crystal was shown a cherry blossom

Since the human body is mostly water, his work has important implications for the power of intent, prayer, and thought in changing our realities.

Emoto’s work is documented in several books: The Hidden Messages in Water, The Miracle of Water, The True Power of Water. When you read even one of these books, so beautifully illusrated with photos of the water crystals, you become much more conscious of the contents of your thoughts and words – and you never approach a glass of water in the same way again!

Sea Lions on Pier 39

  If you’ve ever been to San Francisco, then you undoubtedly stopped by Pier 39 to see the sea lions. When we were there several years ago, there were so many they were stacked three and four deep on the pier. In fact, last month (November 2009) scientists counted 1,500 sea lions on the pier, a record number since the sea lions first appeared 20 years ago and took over Pier 39. But the day after Thanksgiving, they left in droves and this month, there are between 10 and 40 sea lions left on the pier.

So where did they go? Why did they leave?

Scientists speculate they are following a food source. But as we’ve noted in previous posts, animals often act as oracles in predicting global events.   They are far more attuned to the environment than we are and there’s plenty of documented evidence about how animals have fled an area hours, days, even weeks before a disaster strikes.

Let’s hope their departure was attributable just to food. Besides, Pier 39 just won’t be the same without all the sea lions!

PS Musing egret left a comment about this story  under yesterday’s post without knowing we were going to post it today. She has additional information.
